Thanks for all the helpful replies. It'd be nice to wire it straight in, but due to the nature if the light (it's a Death Star one), with cords to pull, then I think I'll have to remove he ceiling rose and wire ut up with chock blocks, so it can be suspended securely from a hook. Thanks again.

hello, I've got an ikea pendant lamp which needs to hand on a hook. I've got a hook on a plate which screws into the ceiling. But it looks like useing the hook plate would mean removing the existing ceiling rose base and cover and dealing with the wiring. I'm not sure of the best way to...
