    Mastic over grout

As above. It sounds like you used clear silicone. The grout colour will not revert back to light grey. An epoxy grout would not have changed colour, but they can be a pig to work with. Unfortunately, you need to try to remove the silicone and then use the right colour. From memory, Mapei sell...

    Chimney flaunching cracks

With respect @datarebal suggested sealing the cowls and @Wayners and others had already recommended re-flaunching.

Attic door face pushing against frame and won't close

It looks like a hardwood skin door rather than MDF. You can see the timber edging. I see nothing that suggests that the decorator is at fault. That said, check the door stops to make sure that there isn't a massive build up of paint where the paint runs around and back to the frame. If there...

Boiler installer left old flue hole open

I am not a plumber but I have seen the liquid from condensate pipes erode concrete (albeit very slowly).

    Space Invaders table top

Wow. I forgot that space invaders was released in 1978 and that the first table version followed in late 78.

    How Good are New Toilets?

I am happy to sit there for 30 mins. Like I said, I want to be empty when I leave for work. 30 mins in the morning Vs using the customer or pub loo later in the day- no brainer (IMO).

Choosing a Bosch impact driver for screw driving

Adjustable torque? I only have one impact driver. It has no torque setting. I don't see how a torque setting could work on an impact driver. Do you have links to one?

Regrouting and re-siliconing shower enclosure - how long to do properly?

Agreed, I recently had to regrout ceramic tiles for a regular customer. I had to use a hand rake (non-diamond) teeth to remove the first 1mm, then a diamond blade in my oscillating saw. I then used blunt chisels to reduce the risk of damaging the glazed edge. PITA. I love the customer, but...

    New fridge/freezer compressor rattling

If, however, a fault is detected after the first 6 months, the burden of proof switches from the trader to the consumer. The consumer must prove that the product was faulty at the time of purchase. (see page 12 - Consumer Rights Act 2015). That said, many products will be sold with a 12 month...

    How Good are New Toilets?

I have used those types before. V odd. I often spend ages on the bog in the morning making sure that I am completely empty given that I work in people's homes. With the German/Dutch loos, I would need about 5 flushes just to keep the smell down. Ultimately, with a UK loo, I can just look down...

    Dead Dewalt Battery Revivial

But they don't risk thermal runaway... You probably know more about this than me, but I recall NiCads having a cut out point after which, for safety reasons, they would not accept a charge.

Please identify the screwdriver type for this screw?

For what it is worth. I often find that JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) fittings work better than PH or PZ when dealing with fittings from the "far east". The (Japanese) Vessel screwdriver fittings are the best I have come across. Not cheap though.

Please identify the screwdriver type for this screw?

The photo doesn't help. I may be a PH1 or PZ1. It might even be a PH0 or PZ0. 3mm screws are normally PH1 or PZ1. The screw is normally identified by the shank rather than the head size. In your case it might be a PH0 or PZ0.

    How Good are New Toilets?

As an aside... Not related to flush rates, but why are some loos designed such that they leave skid marks at the back?

    New fridge/freezer compressor rattling

Record the noise and contact the tech help desk. A few years ago we purchased a heat pump tumble drier. It was really noisy. I download a decibel meter for my phone and sent them the readings. They swapped it out. By contacting them, you have told them about a potential fault at the point of...

    Plumbing wrench ?

Why do the flexi tails need to be fitted first? Don't they have o-rings? If yes, can't you tighten them by hand after the event? BTW, as you know, I am not a plumber. Best of luck.

    Dead Dewalt Battery Revivial

From where was the pressure being released? The end of the cell? I am not sure that I would be confident enough to use a battery with a swollen cell. Did the video explain why it had swollen?
