I've the same saw with the stand, nice bit of kit ba I find it will run all day on one battery. Also it gives you a cutting line which is hard to see if you outside in the sun but if inside another godsend

I have the dewalt and have no probs with It. It may be that you are pressing to hard against what you are cutting, let the tool and blade do the work

depends what you most comfortable at doing. I have a multifein so I tend to cut a chunk out the skirting board. Agree on the end panels for larder unit also if you have a oven housing it's good to have a end panel either side of the housing unit ( just buy one and cut it down the middle) regards...

Also conceals the end of your skirting board if that makes sense mate Regards david
