    Insulated lining paper mold.

I have looked at that but it's only suitable for wet rooms like Kitchens and bathrooms.

    Insulated lining paper mold.

It's not rubbish. The outside humidity has a huge effect on the inside of the house. My meters always run high inside when humid high outdoors. That aside, the humidity reads around 70-80% in the room on average without the dehumidifier. When on it gets it to the mid 50s-lower 60s. Of course...

    Insulated lining paper mold.

Yes I have 3 around the housr, as well as one inbuilt on the dehumidifier. They only tell you the humidity, not the source of it. They are also pretty useless as if it's high % outdoors it's very hard to keep it down in the house, even with a dehumidifier. I agree though it seems to be...

    Insulated lining paper mold.

Same downstairs but not as bad. Still, the outside was storm dried and dry rods in base. It seems any objects in the way seem to cause more damp.

    Insulated lining paper mold.

Pretty much the whole length of the corner but you can see where the window is. We were going to decorate this Spring and tackle the window sill etc so please ignore it. This was the wall before we hung the paper when in the process of removing old lining paper. We did treat the area with mold...

    Insulated lining paper mold.

Yes but there is a dehumidifier running which should attract the condensation due to being the coldest point in the room. Other parts of the house with this paper seem fine. I could put another layer over the top with plenty of thermal paste ?

    Insulated lining paper mold.

I can't get the whole house in shot so just the affected corner in the bedroom. As you can see the bricks aren't wet. It's a crisp frosty, sunny day. There is a little dripping in rainy weather from the corner guttering but nothing severe. I put the paper up on all the outside walls in Oct 2023...

    Insulated lining paper mold.

We try to eliminate condensation as much as possible by opening windows, dehumidifier etc. On that very corner of the wall is where the guttering (cast iron) is dripping a bit but I doubt it is affecting the inside so much unless making it extra cold. Old houses for you!

    Insulated lining paper mold.

I purchased 4mm backed lining paper (Red) from Amazon and stuck it with Wallrock thermal paste. It has made a difference to out outside walls (no cavity) of our victorian brick house. However, just a year later and I can see signs of black mold, but nowhere near as bas as it was. We run a...

    Leaking new shower door

Well in all this time it hasn't fallen into the right shape with an unsightly kink and ripples. The guy who fitted it has done many bathrooms and would surely know which way round it should go. I do wonder if it was correct originally .

    Random damp patches on wall

The wall on the outside is very good with good mortar. What I now can't understand after putting the insulation wallpaper up is a very cold corner with actual water sitting just in the join. I have dehumidifiers and this isn't the chimney breast (possible salts etc) so why would it be attracting...

    Wooden floor warping

We were asked which direction we wanted and astheaticalky we preferred it that way. It doesn't make any difference. At both ends the wood is free to expand (doorway and end that steps down into tiled utility area) It only goes under the units so far and not against walls. Again, correct...

I will have to check on that and get back to you. No idea why he over ordered by so much as he measured and worked it out. Again we trusted his judgment. We also have a lot of spare underlay, as well as lvt from the other job.

    Wooden floor warping

I appreciate your opinions but this pile on isn't helping. I am already pretty depressed about it and just want to make the best of it having already spent good money. I am not a floor specialist so wasn't to know. I can only trust someone who does a lot of work for clients (some big expensive...

    Wooden floor warping

A self employed builder/property repair. I don't want to go too much into the person as he in the main did a good job with other work he did for us but, as much as I appreciate the advise and knowledge, I think posting here is going to be under intense scrutiny whatever way it was done. I...

    Wooden floor warping

He said it makes no difference if only adding extra cushioning. I can't see what harm it would do. Besides it would be sitting on cold concrete if you took the lino away. There is Wood Fibre Laminate and Wood Flooring Underlay over he lino anyway.

    Wooden floor warping

This is the area we are talking about. The area it is springing is this corner. I am going to paint the skirting hence the filler showing. I also put the beading on so can't see beyond but looking to the right I can see it goes under the skirting so no idea why lifting.

    Wooden floor warping

The beading is definitely 100% wooden but it will have to come off when I adjust the skirting.
