Bathroom rad getting hot, heating not on

Always been like it. Worcesterbosch replaced a diverter valve as it was under warranty, but still same problem.

Bathroom rad getting hot, heating not on

No, it's part of the main oil fired central heating system. Gets fairly warm, yes, but I'd say not as warm as when the heating is on. Don't think it coincides with anything, no. Photos of the rad below. Pipes drop-down and go off to side, under floorboard where they join with rest of the...

    Humidity and condensation got worse

The gable wall in the picture had quite a bit of condensation on it, loads of droplets all over. The roof timbers feel cold near here and in some places a little damp to touch. I put same humidity sensor outside, it was reading 87%, 11⁰. Loft is still 99%, 10⁰ and still got condensation on...

    Humidity and condensation got worse

Hi A while back I posted about high humidity levels in my loft. A few weeks ago I was getting readings of 85% RH at around 5⁰, now I'm getting 99% RH at around 10⁰ (it's been raining last few days and outside temperature is warmer this week). Humidity downstairs is currently 68% at 17⁰. There...

    PiV system not very effective

It reduces relative humidity though doesn't it? When the heating is on relative humidity levels reduce, according to the hygrometer. Regarding the loft, I just checked, it's at 7⁰ 74%rh, condensation on velux windows again (they were open about 2 inches last night). Roofing felt (bitumen)...

    PiV system not very effective

The bedroom door is shut at night, but there is a gap underneath for airflow (about 5-8mm). Leaving door open would probably help, but planning on renting the property out, so can't guarantee tenants will do that. There's a couple of old fireplaces, one in dining room, one in lounge, I'm...

    PiV system not very effective

Hi A year ago I had a piv system installed to help with condensation and high humidity at home (4 bed detached house, just me living here at the minute). However I'm still getting indoor humidity levels of around 70% and in the bedroom i get about a 1 inch band of condensation on windows. House...

    45a isolator switch

Thanks, I'll look at Crabtree Yes, cable to the shower is not long enough to reach terminals if they are at the bottom.

    45a isolator switch

Hi I need to replace a 45a isolator switch for an electric shower (face plate is cracked) I need it to have supply/feed terminals at bottom and load terminals at top. All the ones I'm seeing are the other way round though. Any ideas? Thanks.

EICR, would this be an issue?

    It's a 4 bed house, 2 bathrooms, kitchen extension. Had a quote for £165.

EICR, would this be an issue?

No, not had any issues with RCD tripping. Was just concerned that one wasn't enough or didn't cover everything that needs covering. It was last tested 2005, so would rather get it tested for peace of mind. We're leaning heavily toward letting, so will likely need it anyway. Is an EICR an EICR...

EICR, would this be an issue?

Residential. Although possibly going on the market either to sell or to let.

EICR, would this be an issue?

Thanks. I think there's enough cable on both ends to shift it if need be, but hopefully he'll agree it's ok. Other question.. I'm not convinced there's adequate RCD protection on the consumer unit. Is there any way if find out prior to the inspection?

EICR, would this be an issue?

Hi Need to get an EICR done, but first want to address any potential issues. One is the location of the cooker isolator switch. I'm assuming it'll flag up as C1 or C2, see photo below. It's 100mm to side of cooker top and 165cm up from floor. Am I right in thinking it should be 300mm/120cm up...

Bathroom rad getting hot, heating not on

Hi Have a Worcester Bosch external oil combi, fitted last October. For some reason the bathroom tower radiator keeps getting warm, even when the heating is turned off. It was suggested it might be a faulty diverter valve, so has WB come out and replace it, but problem is still occurring...

    FCU spur off spur?

It's an mk socket and probably would've taken 4 cables, but all done now. Made the usb socket a part of the ring and run a sour off that to a new socket below the counter top. Thanks for the help all.

    FCU spur off spur?

I see, thanks, will do that. If that's the case I'll probably put a single socket down there rather than an FCU, easier to swap over if I need a new appliance.
