I've been on the forum previously regarding a new PCB (GC 372846) I installed to my 820/20T combi boiler, the reason for the new PCB was that my boiler would not ignite, an electrical engineer friend diagnosed a fault with the integral relays, if you tapped the relays the boiler would fire up...

I do realise that Tony and my electrical engineer friend did suggest the relays could be replaced as you have suggested......but as I could pick up a NEW PCB with relays from ebay £50.....that sounded a damned good deal. Kind regards, Steve

Tony.....not an expensive mistake at all( £50 on ebay, new part)......the relays were burned out on the original, if you tapped them they would spark and there was contact and the boiler would burst into life immediately...a friend who is an electrical engineer also confirmed the fault...

Hi Tony......thank you for the reply, I will check the flame height, my issue is the slowness of the boiler to ignite for water or CH.... it used to be virtually instant with the old PCB....I presumed the knurled knob on the board would be responsible and required adjustment.....any ideas ...

An electrical friend came round and tracked down the problem to a faulty relay, which is an the integral part of the PCB(5021160).....a new PCB purchased via ebay for £49.......thank God for ebay, I now have an inexpensive repair and am not faced with a huge repair bill......an END TO CALL OUT...
