    Goodbye to Grange Hill

Its a shame they can't scrap Stars in Their Eyes, You've Been Framed, Who Want to Be a Millionairre, X-Factor etc etc.... To be honest they are even more boring and predictable than Grange Hill.

    Awful quality radiators

Why dont you drill out the snapped screw and re-tap the thread. Remove the radiator first though and make sure you give it a god flush through with a hose afterwards to remove any debris.

    dirty laptop screen

I have found that even some of the so called 'screen cleaners' leave horrible smear marks on LCD screens. For dust, a soft bristle brush is great, for other marks I tend to just use a weak washing up liquid and water solution on a soft lint free cloth. Dont press too hard or rub repeatedly...

    Upgrading to Vista from XP

Personally I would go for the full version, most people who experience problems with Vista are usually those that have upgraded. If you want to save money, get an OEM version (license terms apply), my Vista Premium (full vers) was under £60.00 I have both a Vista machine and XP SP2, XP still...

Too early to scarify & feed the lawn?

I always wait until April, if you do it now and we get a cold snap you could kill off your lawn. All that moss and debris provides some insulation.

Roof window in a flat roof

The roof light will also have a kerb around it so its actually higher than the roof. As long as a proper felting job is done, there is no reason for it to leak. Example roof light http://www.master-plastics.co.uk/index.html?target=dept_353.html&lang=en-gb

Internally insulating a small flat roof

You can get polystyrene backed wall paper or rolls of thin polystyrene about 2mm thick for a few pounds, which you apply like wall paper. This may give some insulative qualities. If you sandwiched the polystrene between a layer of foil backed plasterboard and your existing plasterboard it may...

    Vandalism on Christmas day

    Vandalism on Christmas day

The vandals had been around last night where we live. I took the dog out this morning and the back alley was littered with broken terracotta pots and plants taken from peoples front gardens. The little s**ts had even used a shopping trolley to get them all to the alley  I don't...

    strimmer, (Oleo-Mac 725s) wont start

If you have B&Q Mountfield, there isn't too much you can do. Most of them have diaphragm carbs so all you can do is replace diaphragm, change the oil and change the plug, plus a little bit of wd40 here and there. I also Redex mine a couple of times a year to keep it coke free.
