Router - plus Table > how to keep router on.

The idea is that the switch on the router is permanently in the on position, usually achieved by some sort of clip, failing anything being commercially available a jubliee clip will suffice. You then use the NVR switch on the table for switching the router on and off.

Ivy on top of garage roof

Theres only one way and thats the long slow process of removing it piece by piece, from the top down. My garage originally had so much ivy covering the shell that it had actually started to crush and distort the panels (concrete prefab)

    Problematic screws for new gate

If they are countersunk, drill out the heads and remove the hinge. Use mole grips on the shanks to twist out the rest.

    Budget Winners

I bet if you took all of your taxes, both direct and indirect you would find that you are probably paying close to 60% of your earnings to the taxman anyway.

    wickes wet dry cleaner

I think they are a rebadged Earlex cleaner. I have had one now for about 6 years, no complaints, does the job, even used it for cleaning the sludge from the pond a few times.

Charging a car battery by driving it

I you only have one journey of four miles a week, would it not be cheaper just to get a taxi or a bus? (depending upon mobility circumstances) You're paying for insurance, MOT, road tax, petrol (although most of it probably evaporates) and AA cover for 200 miles a year

    finders keepers ?

If you find something and hand it in to the police, if its not claimed do you get to keep it? I have a feeling the police auction these finds off and keep the cash, so why hand it in to them?

Post hole borer or Trenching Shovel?

My personal preference is for these, makes removing the soil much easier. http://www.toolshopdirect.co.uk/handtool/product/FAIPHD As mentioned whichever method you use, if you hit a large obstruction its a real pain in the rear.

    This doesn't look right!!

I'm no expert, but to me it looks like they've used a flashing plate for a flat roof, not one for an inclined roof and tried to bodge it. Or it could just be the angle of the photo. :?

Hard water killing radiators and taps

Could the leaks could be down to the fact that the system wasn't rinsed out properly after the flush. The corrosive mixture may have been slowly eating away at the system.
