    Honeywell CM67 Thermostat Problem???

You would know if you had opt start as you woiuld have specified when you purchased as its a slighlty different model and slightly more expensive. What temps and times are you setting and what does the temp on the display show when it switches off? I would reset to factory defaults and...

    Small Retaining Wall for Garden

Search the forums for 'walls', lots of previous posts, probably why there are no replies as yet. :!: First off your footings need to be concrete not mortar, 10 shovels of ballast to 1/2 bag of cement should be ok. Personally for the skin that you won't see I would use dense concrete...

    Bird Muck

Not always practical though. You can't keep running outside every few hours and check to see if its been poo'd on. I still maintain that the manufacturers should use paint that will resist the problem, otherwise its 'unfit for purpose'. The body shop blammed it on the EU regs that forbid the...

    Bird Muck

I have a Renault Scenic, 2 yrs old. Last week whilst giving it a clean, I noticed that where some bird much had been it has totally removed the paint right down to the undercoat. After carefully inspecting the bonnet, I noticed a number of other places where the paint has been severely affected...

    dogs

I am a dog owner and we have a very well behaved dog This is down to both good training and keeping the dog well exercised and mentally stimulated. But, no matter how well a dog is trained, under certain circumstances as mentioned earlier, its survival instict will kick in. We had en event...

    removing radiator tail

If you are using the hacksaw method, dont cut all the way through the olive, cut about 80% through, then put a flat bladed screwdriver in the slot and twist. The olive should then split.

    Paper boys

Has anyone noticed how lazy paper boys are these days. I walk my dog every morning and I am astounded to see the same paper boys being driven house to house by thier parents so they can do their rounds. What does this teach them? certainly not independance and certainly not the value of...

Double Glazing - outside surface misting up

The sealed unit is probably made from 'K' glass or similar. This is very typical of this type of glass and nothing to worry about. Don't bother to wipe the mist off it will evaporate quite quickly.

    chainsaw advice

First of all, if you do get one you will need PPE (personal protective equipment). A minimum of of helmet with wire visor and ear protection, chainsaw gloves, steel toe boots, chainsaw foot protectors, chainsaw trousers or dungarees. Total cost around £200-£250. Only a fool would power one up...

Shower tiling screw up? See photos

I have to agree it does look odd, I thought it was a wind-up at first with a mini bath. I personally would use a smaller tile. As suggested earlier a level batten around the bath to make sure your first row is square, then cut tile when the batten is removed to the level of the bath. You could...

Which grows quicker - laurel, holly or photinia red robin

Laurel would probably be best, our old bush used to put on about 4-5 ft in a season. Needs to be kept in check though otherwise a bush will quickly turn into a tree. Holly is very slow, not sure about your third option.

    Especially crass TV adverts

Have you ever watched an advert and thought, yep must get that? I can't say that I have so whats the point. Most people pick up the remote and surf for the duration of the adverts. Trouble is most channels now sync their ad breaks, most annoying

    fishing

I used to fish quite a bit around the Norfolk & Suffolk coastline (from the beach). I gave up three years ago as the catches had definitely dwindled. Sometimes there wouldn't even be a catch for weeks.
