agile: thanks found the flow restrictor and removed it and it seems to be back to the normal pressure (maybe a little bit less) temperature heats up and stays constant too. what does this mean? its fixed? or still needs a descale?

at the bottom of the boiler there is the incoming cold with a black tap to stop the flow, it enters the boiler and connects to a black thing with two wires coming out of it and then copper pipe to the heat exchanger... where would the small plastic flow restrictor be?

checked the pressure going into the boiler... same as much as the cold tap also. :o(

the flow is like a hamster peeing on your hand (a little over exaggerated) but the temperature is hot as it is suppose to be. so you concur that it is scale build up??

check the pressure to the rads... it does this if the pressure in the rads drop too low, its a safety feature. if its not that... cant help you.

is there a general place where a thermostat should be placed? i have a hallway down stairs and a landing upstairs, it seems that upstairs is always colder than downstairs would the landing be the best place to postition a thermostat or is it generally the downstairs hallway?
