    Insulating a Garage Door

I used a roll of insulation (foil on both sides) bought off ebay. It was cut to shape then stuck on with a spray glue and the gaps sealed with foil tape. The doors now don't give out condensation in the winter or put heat out in the summer - a worthwile job :)

    Paint over varnish?

Hi All the internal doors in the house are varnished and look a bit drab, we were going to replace them all with new white ones but have now thought about trying to paint these with white undercoat followed by water based johnstones satin white - will this work or would the varnish need to be...

I have a concrete drive (rough stoney texture not smooth) which has several cracks widthways. I recall a few years seeing some type of filler sand/ cement which you poured into the cracks then added water which activated it - anyone remember anything about this or is there another easy solution...

    garage lining

I have a sectional garage where the panels are joined together by bolts. I fitted 2"x1" batons to the walls using the bolts then fitted polystyrene insulation and finally moisture resistant chipboard flooring which interlocks. This was left as is for about 2 years and i then decided to paint the...

Some new cars have no spare wheel

Not sure what they do about the offset - maybe carry a selection of spacers? would also need to carry a selection of adapters for the centre bore? I know they use ATS to change the tyres on the temp wheels so i guess they follow the car at a reduced speed to the nearest station?

Some new cars have no spare wheel

The RAC and AA now carry universal steel wheels/ tyres which are 16" and multi drilled so fit 90% of road cars. I bought my car new last year and specified the space saver which i used several times as 1 tyre kept going flat (leaking hole where valve comes through) - as this meant fitting the...

    Garden strimmer with blades

Thanks Been looking on ebay at brush cutters and most seem to be petrol or heaver duty ones where i just need a smallish one for the garden. It's to replace a flymo with nylon cord which breaks every 10 seconds when it hits the stones and concrete edging even though the cord is heavy duty?

    Plastic bumper paint.

The primer and paint need to have plasticisor (sp) in which allows the paint to flex with the plastic bumper - if you use standard spray paint it'll crack and peel with the slightest flex

    Garage overhaul!

Thanks Was your ST taken with the key fob? seem to be a lot taken by bypassing the fob using the OBD port the ST is a nippy car, manages 34mpg and only costs £186 a year F/C to insure - shame it has rattles appearing and the sill lights not working (common problem) i want to add more...

You can buy insulation sheets, cut them to size and stick them to the garage door using spray glue and tape - i did this as the door was very cold and full of condensation before
