    Help with wiring

I should have added ground floor so no access to the loft, currently working in the void via the holes left from the Halogens. The current cable in the void is 2-core plus earth wire, so if reading your reply correctly, I use the current 2-core + earth to the ceiling light and a 3-core + earth...

Baxi Combi 100HE plus. Hot tap water but no heating. Checked water pressure etc and pump appears to be running when hot tap is run. I suspect the actuator valve is faulty it is a Honeywell VC4012 actuator. How can I confirm this, and is it an easy DIY fix. The part is readily available on ebay.

Thanks mikeyd, I wasnt quite sure what wire would be best I do have some 2-core & earth 6242H 1.5mm but dont think that would be suitable so looking more at a 3 core and using sleeve or tape to mark the live feed. Advice on cable would be good. My intention is to feed this from a 5amp socket...

    Renovating garden shed, advice?

I have dismantled the shed and rebuilding & resiting it. I have to replace a few planks (tongue & groove shiplap) and a couple of the uprights (wood rot) as the previous owners let it sink into the ground at one corner. A couple of questions. 1. The old wood has had various...

One can only try, in a situation like this, there wont be a stock answer. But you sound imaginative enough that you should find a solution. the problem is no one will notice it but every time you look at that wall you will cringe :-)
