Texecom Vertias 8 - going off with power cut

Guessing it's around 3-4 years so probably worth getting it replaced! Thanks again guys.

Texecom Vertias 8 - going off with power cut

Nice one - thanks for the info. Will see if the guy who fitted it is still in the game and get him out! Cheers

Texecom Vertias 8 - going off with power cut

So I need to replace the battery? Sorry for the dumb questions! I'm sure in the past if there's been a power cut and the alarm has gone off I've still been able to silence it.

Texecom Vertias 8 - going off with power cut

Thanks - I know it's something I should do more often. Any ideas about the actual issue though? The alarm should be able to reset shouldn't it?

Texecom Vertias 8 - going off with power cut

Hi, I've had a couple of power cuts recently which has made my Texecom Vertias 8 go off. Is this default behaviour? I can understand the need for it but it's a bit annoying! More worryingly is that I can't reset it until the power comes back. When I enter the code and hit reset nothing...

    Using loft space

I live in a 20 year old 'new build' with what I believe is a Fink roof truss that leaves very little usable space. Is it possible to change these trusses to something more useful without the roof falling down?! Not looking to convert the loft - just make better use of the space.

    Wired doorbell question!

Sorry I've just looked at the screw driver and you're correct.

    Wired doorbell question!

Nope it's a simple Philips screw! I did wonder that originally but Doorbot provide a theft guarantee giving you a free replacement if it's stolen. I'm guessing, as it's a cloud service, that they can easily 'kill' stolen Dootbor's remotely. ... hence me hooking it up to a traditional...

    Wired doorbell question!

I have a new fangled electronic doorbell (http://www.getdoorbot.com/) and want to hook it up to a traditional wired doorbell so it's rings in the house (like a normal doorbell does!) Specs for the device say: So I think this would be OK...

    Deactivating Texecom Vertias 8 system

The external bell box will be a satellite siren. Don't know about pricing but US pricing is on their website. Everything is CE marked for the Euro market - can't comment on any other checks.

    Deactivating Texecom Vertias 8 system

Yep good point about router battery backup too - maybe a separate battery backup is the answer? I do believe the iSmartAlarm will notify you if it loses connection. I've been researching a more 'advanced' replacement for my home alarm system for a while now and this is by far the best I've...

    Deactivating Texecom Vertias 8 system

Thanks EightyTwo! cybergibbons - they're not currently available in the UK but are due for release very soon. I'm beta testing the device for use here and in the EU (although they've been around in the US/Canada for a little while now). Let's be clear here - I'm protecting my home and not...

    Deactivating Texecom Vertias 8 system

I've been testing out the iSmartAlarm system and it works really rather well! The only thing it's missing is a bell box but that's coming very soon. To the point now where I need to completely deactivate my old Texecom Vertias 8 in order to remove the PIRs and replace them with the wireless...

    Texecom Vertias 8 zone question

Yeah I read about that but didn't think it applied. Basically when using the part set option (to exit/enter via back door) I'd have to walk through the utility room and kitchen zones to get into the hallway zone where the panel is. So for part set I've set the zone types for those three...

    Texecom Vertias 8 zone question

Thanks mate - think I've done it - will test it out tomorrow ;) Cheers!

    Texecom Vertias 8 zone question

Cheers sparkymarka - and none of this will affect the normal 'full set' mode?

    Texecom Vertias 8 zone question

it's about seven years old. So I *can* have different zone types specified for different sets (full/part)?

    Texecom Vertias 8 zone question

At the moment I have my Texecom Vertias 8 setup so that a full set has all zones types set to 'guard' except for the hallway which is set to 'entry/exit'. I don't currently use the part set function at all. Would it be possible to use the part set 1 function so I can leave by the back door...

Think I've fixed my floor lamp?!

Hi TTC, There was a lot of faffing about with different fuses - some made the lamp work (without the dimmer function) but that worried me more about something going wrong! Here's a pic of the inside - I think the wiring should be fine - it was more the principle of what I've done (knowing...
