    Radiator Balancing?

As a quick test you could try turning off a few of the other rads in the circuit and check that this rad you mentioned actually heats up ok. If it does then it is possible your system need balancing, or you have too many rads for your boiler? If it doesn't heat up, you probably have a...

    Earthing pipework

Quick question, i'm in the process of wiring up an electric shower. When i fit the earth conection to the pipework can i rely on an in line isolator valve (compression joint) to have a good electrical connection or do i need to connect the two joining bits of pipework electrically using earth...

    Potterton Suprima 80 intermittant lockout

Or you can get cheaper re-con ones from http://www.cetltd.com/ much cheaper. But it sounds like you have the same problem i had, you just need to reflow the majority of the solder joints, it worked for me, good luck :) AL

Tepid HW & Rads - please give me a clue!

Does your boiler have any lights on the front? If so what are they doing, it might help to figure out why your boiler won't start up. does the boiler have a reset button, does this get it going. Also do you have a manual for your boiler? If so these will often point you in the right...

    Boiler Replacement

I would say that this is definatley a job for a professional, you can't work on the gas supply unless you're a corgi registered person. I guess if you were really determined you could get a corgi guy in to disconnect the gas supply to the existing appliance, and then if you are suitable...

Potterton suprima 50 intermittent lockout :(

I had the PCB out yesterday, and gave it a look. It seemed as though many of the larger component leads had dry joints and had small cracks as a result of this plus 3 years of rapid thermal change. I re-flowed all of these solder joints and so far (24 hours) it has gone in to locked out mode. I...

Potterton suprima 50 intermittent lockout :(

Cheers Baggy, i had a look at the link you posted and it's only about £40 for the PCB reconditioned. I'll have a go at reflowing the pcb myself and if that don't do it i'll get a recon board, for only £40 i can't go wrong, cheaper than a plumbers call out fee ;) AL

Potterton suprima 50 intermittent lockout :(

thanks for the quick reply, i'll give the PCB the once over. If it's just naff solder joints then it's pretty easy to reflow. I guess it must take quite a lot of thermal punishment. I'll let you know how i get on, cheers! AL

Potterton suprima 50 intermittent lockout :(

Had the boiler for about 2 years now, however about 6 months ago it started going into lockout mode, at this time i hit reset and it would be fine for a couple of weeks. However it has gradually become worse, now it locks out practically everyday. Strange thing is, it seems to heat the water for...
