    SIP air powered impact driver

Thought that might be the case. I realise they can't give accurate settings as its not to be used as a torque wrench, but some sort of guide would be handy. Is setting number2 10 ft lb? 50? 100? The manual says nothing....

    SIP air powered impact driver

I've just added an SIP impact driver to my tool box. At the base of the handle there is a rotating knob with 4 preset positions marked, stangely enough, 1,2,3 & 4. Can anyone tell me (unlike the manual) what these are for? Thanks

    Mould on Silicone sealant

Around the base of a shower cubicle we have the old problem of mould forming on the silicone sealant. The sealant used was supposedly mould 'resistant' and we have used mould remover spays yet still it persists. The bathroom is generally well ventilated though well used so the cubicle never...

    Gloworm Ultimate - knocking

Sorry to waste your time and thanks for the responses. Had it fully serviced today and it was fine - turns out its a pipe under the floorboards in the bedroom above the boiler expanding/contracting. Strange that it comes and goes, months with nothing, then it starts again. Earplugs I guess....

    Shower screens - BORING!!!

Sorry you misunderstood. Frosted/etched glass or the example shown is exactly what I DONT want. There must be something more imaginative than what every B&Q sells?

    Gloworm Ultimate - knocking

It just says Gloworm Ultimate.....? Hot water is mains pressured so I'm told, possible its scale as it used to clog up badly, though since getting a water softener fitted two years ago we've had no problems anywhere else. Unit is nearly six years old. Heating and water are fine.

    Gloworm Ultimate - knocking

3 a.m. The Gloworm starts banging clonking and knocking. It sounds some nights like somebody is trying to break into the house!! Is it just in need of a service or is this an obvious adjustment? Thank You

    Shower screens - BORING!!!

I've been trolling the web for any sites that sell some interesting shower screens. Nothing. I'm leaning toward plain glass at the moment, but surely there is something more interesting than frosted patterns. Something like stained glass in Art Nouveau or Art Deco designs, stainless steel...

    Dimmer on oscillating fan

Thanks for the idea but not too practical!! The fan has three preset speeds, how then do these presets control the fans speed? Is it not possible to use the same method?

    Dimmer on oscillating fan

Thanks, is there a proper way to lower the RPM of an (presumably cheap) electric motor?

    Dimmer on oscillating fan

On its lowest setting our fan was too much, noisy too so I placed an in line dimmer switch into the cable. The motor made a strange noise whenever the dimmer was on anything other than 100%, and eventually the fan motor died. Can anyone explain what I did wrong?
