    Dudley vantage concealed cistern

Hi, Thanks. No blue blocks or anything like that. Think I might try a fluidmaster one and see if it works...

    Dudley vantage concealed cistern

Hi, I have one of these cisterns the Vantage flush valve. I've now had to replace the washer a couple of times and am tempted to swap the flush valve for another type. There's a flush pipe from concesled cistern to the pan. Can it be done and any recommendations of one to swap to? Thanks...

Dudley Vantage cistern replace flush valve

I have a Thomas Dudley vantage concealed cistern. Twice had to replace washer on the Niagra valve and now a slow overflow into the pan again. Do I have to replace with the same flush valve or can I put in a fluidmaster, have used those before and seem good?

    Bathroom locks

Sorry, stupid autocorrect. I guess the question boils down to is it possible (easy) to retrofit a bathroom sashlock to a door already drilled for a tubular latch and handle? There's nothing stamped on the top of the door unfortunately, looks to have been planed.

    Bathroom locks

Think I need to switch the little bike for the tubular latch to accommodate this : https://www.screwfix.com/p/smith-locke-bathroom-mortice-lock-polished-chrome-65-x-22mm/9600g

    Bathroom locks

One like the bottom picture. Currently has a simple tubular latch, and I want to change the lock to one that will work with the lock on the handle. This is the style that matches the handles on the other door. Just wondered whether going from tubular latch to the mortice type bathroom match...

    Bathroom locks

I'm steadily replacing all the internal door handles for more modern ones. The bathrooms in the house currently have simple tubular latches and a simple, seperate catch (the small bolt in effect). Anyway I like the idea of changing the tubular latch type to a "bathroom lock" such that I can use...

    Self adhesive vinyl tiles

I had a leaking pipe in the bathroom. So, vinyl up, ply covering cut, floorboards up etc. I've now made good the floor, replaced the damaged ply and taped the join and thought I'd have a go with self adhesive vinyl tiles rather than the sheet lino which was down before (and was ruined getting...

Have I found the leak? (picture)

Thank you. Pipes in question (heat up when water heating on) are 22mm as you say. It's 22mm coming from both 2 port valves under the boiler. Unfortunately the area does seem completely dry, so guess this could be a red herring too. This pressure drop is so frustrating. Think plumber next...

Have I found the leak? (picture)

It kind of sits over the void created by the boxing. I've left heating and hot water off overnight, managed to get my fingers up in the boxing to the crusty bit of pipe and no obvious water... Is it possible to isolate the cylinder hot water circuit and just use the immersion for a couple of...

Yep, of that much I'm sure!

Have I found the leak? (picture)

Sorry. Not combi. Worcester 30cdi system boiler, S plan, unvented cylinder. I put just the heating on for a bit, then just the hot water to identify which pipes are getting hot when. It was found after having the boiler in a year or two to be on a one pipe system, so we had it repiped as a...

Have I found the leak? (picture)

Just out of reach in the boxing! May try and make the hole a bit bigger. When you say central heating pipe, this pipe (and the one next to it) gets hot when the hot water is on, not the heating. But I assume it's the same system water? (He says embarrassed at his ignorance)

Have I found the leak? (picture)

I posted before that I've had to top up the central heating pressure more recently. I initially isolated the boiler and thought it was a leak from the boiler as I got a pressure drop. I then realised I probably didn't have the system completely cool when I isolated it like an idiot. Did...

    Worcester 30cdi system pressure drop

But is that likely on a 4 year old system with clean, inhibited water?? Guess I'll have to get them out to look see. Suppose I could put a balloon on the condensate pipe as system switched off at the moment and see if topping up again later sees water in that balloon.

    Worcester 30cdi system pressure drop

So, have left about 36 hours now with boiler isolated at flow and return varices. Boiler pressure guage dropped from 1.5 to about 1.1. Guess I'll call Worcester out, any common issues with these? I'm presuming wouldn't be heat exchanger on a 4 year old boiler? I'd have thought I might see...

    Worcester 30cdi system pressure drop

Thanks for that. Have done, will see what comes. Did it last night and both have dropped a bit but assume it's cooled more overnight. I'm lucky in that I have a pressure guage in the boiler and one in the airing cupboard where the filling loop is so I guess that shows me both boiler pressure...

    Worcester 30cdi system pressure drop

Hi, I've had the above boiler four years. Sealed system. These last weeks I've had to top up frequently and today the boiler shut down due to pressure loss. I've been round all radiators and valves (found a leaking bleed valve, thought I'd cracked it by replacing and now no leak but pressure...

Leak from valve on filling loop

Hi, Worcester 30cdi system boiler, sealed system and unvented hot water. Last couple of times I've topped up the system, I get drops of water from the screwdriver slot isolation valve bit, where my screwdriver is on the pic. It's no problem because there's another isolater on the same valve...

Replacing my heating Thermostat (room stat )

Think I've found my answer - can't control the hot water. Think Tado may be the solution for me.
