    Hi....just a quickie, is it possible to drill holes in aluminium oxide sandpaper.I can get a 5 metre roll from Tool station for about £4 but to buy to fit a sander they cost over £6. It's to fit a Mac Allister sander.

    Good news John..... it's working.I stripped the blades right down and tried various ways of assembling them until I got the blades reciprocating correctly when I turned the drive. How long it will work for is another matter but at least it's working thanks to all you guys for your time and help...

    There are two blades with a con rod ? as per photo the drive turns the elongated holes on the end of the blades I think both blades move it's just working out how I think I'll fork out £50 for another cutter head John this is way beyond me but thanks for your help and Harrie's

    Hi Harry and John I've managed to relocate the circlip but it's still not cutting I wonder if I have got the discs in the wrong position the main blade is moving but the second blade is also moving in the same direction thus not making a cutting action does this make sense

    hi John i'll try to get a photo on but it won't be today I think it might be the disks inside the drive that are damaged but they look ok.

    no all the screws are tight on the blades I have an old mains electric trimmer I can use until I get it sorted.....worst scenario is i'll have to buy another trimmer head £49. but thanks for your help

    I think the blades are moving fully it's just they are both moving in the same direction
