if I start with a tile and a half at the verge wont it look odd because the next tile up will be an ordinary tile and the tile and a half will show, please excuse my ignorance but should it be an eave tile and a half because the guy at the tilers yard only gave me ordinary sized eave tiles. :?:

hi... I am tiling a pitched roof door canopy using plain tiles, I know about eave tiles and top tiles but can anyone tell me which tile is best to start off with, a tile and a half or half a tile each end and do I start on the verge or wall end, and if there are any cuts do i make the cuts on...

I wont be using guttering will that make a difference ?

....[/url] the firm who quoted me tells me they have had difficulty locating a lock ( the conservatory is about 18 yrs old ) so I don't think there's much chance of me locating one, but thanks anyway...got another firm coming to give me a quote. :)

hi .... I have been quoted £250 to replace and fit a GU multi lock 4 roller bar lock on my conservatory door. does anyone think this is a bit over the top ? cheers mickcoulson

the battery is only a back up in case of a power cut the system works ok without battery. it is two years old

hi.. i had the above alarm system installed about 20 years ago and it's worked fine until now. The battery is ok i tested with a multi meter. It has started just giving one bleep when the alarm goes off. I have disconnected the battery and turned the power off and on. Now here's the strange...

hi... with a bit of brute force and a lot of WD40 I managed to get the door open. It looks like the lock keep had come adrift and jammed the mechanism. The door opens and closes now but there is a lot of play in the handle so methinks a new lock is needed....many thanks to Burnerman and Gazman...

Did you try this yet? You need something like a wide (2") but thin and bendy scraper. Bend it in between where the doors meet and slide it up and down to find the cams or hooks. Normally if your in the lower half of the door you would need to then tap it up and vise versa for the top half...

I have managed to unscrew the grub screws with some long nosed pliers and the hinge pins will now come out. if I take out hinge pins will the door lift away from the locking mechanism and lift off ? Also you may have shootbolts that are engaged up and down into the frame on the handle side...

no John the handle is fine the square is ok, it is just the roller bar that is not disengaging the 5 security locks mick

hi... whilst lifting the door handle on my conservatory door to lock it I felt something " go " and now the door will not open. the handle is slack and does nothing, the door will lock and unlock with the key. i'm guessing the roller bar has broken. I cannot get to the grub screws on the...
