    Good exterior combination padlock

Just as I said! For info, I only open locks for personal challenge, and occasionally at work to change the code for a laugh, confused workmates wondering why their locks won't open!

    Good exterior combination padlock

The one I can't open is a squire csl1, about £14. A cheap set of bolt-croppers will sort it but the same goes for all cheap locks! http://www.squirepadlocks.co.uk/squcsl1-squire-csl1-40mm-brass-padlock-combination-4-wheel.html

    Good exterior combination padlock

You need a good combination lock to have any lock at all, its like having no lock at all given that there is no key. I can open most locks of this type just by feel, even the ones you need to press a button to release. I opened a £50 lock in 10 mins. I have been stumped by one, I'll have to...

    Ariston E-Combi 24FF HE

I've got a 30FFHE. Only had 130units of gas through it in 1 year so can't comment on reliability but seems ok. Can set hot water temp and central heating temp but possibly can do this on newer boilers? Mechanical timer failed recently, known fault, plastic trim too close to dial so causes it...

    Basic cost estimate

Hello Hotrod, Thats just for the brickwork? Considerably more than the £1k threshold for £120 building regs fee, looks like I'm having to tick the £264 box! Shame our council doesn't go with the 2k limit for minor works. Thanks for your quote. Cheers.

    Basic cost estimate

Hi, I'm after a basic idea of trade costs for altering window openings. I've got a 2 window openings I need reducing from 2.27m to 2.17m (half a brick!). 1 of these also requires the bottom building up by 6 courses to reduce its depth from 1.6m to 1.2m. There is also a 1.8m x 1.2m window...

    Multiple building regs fee's?

Hi, The windows and door will be installed by a FENSA installer, I need to make the openings to my reduced size before they can come out to measure up, same for the door opening. They told me they can do the work but I want to do as much as I can to save costs (reality tells me this is a flawed...

    Multiple building regs fee's?

Hi all, 1st post and it's something I can't get my head around. I've got some 'minor' brickwork mods to do. In the kitchen I have to alter a window, the base is low (24" from floor) and I need to lift it 6 rows of bricks to get worktop under it. I also want (not need) to reduce the opening...
