Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

nothing wrong with the pcb. these ones are very robust. that fault is either the pump not pumping, low pressure, blocked filter on return near the air seperator or the diverter valve/ actuator

Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

Does the pressure gauge rise and fall when the pump activates? If it doesn’t it is most likely that the system needs more pressure as these often get blocked and give you a false reading

    Grant Vortex Combi 26e Problem.

My guess is when it ran low on pressure it has got some air in the top of the main exchanger. You then topped it up but when it reached temp it has activated the overheat and it won’t reset until cools down. But with air at the top it won’t cool down for a lot longer. There should be a couple of...

    GlowWorm Energy 30r

Yours is wired correctly and working correctly. If you had wanted the hot water to symbol to work then you would have needed the Glow-worm controls.

Mystery Sewer Gas Smell after Extension

Replace the aav. This is your easiest and most common product to fail. Also check shower tray traps as these are often the ones to get the traps go dry if not used every other day and can easily be pulled if a large amount of soil flushed down the toilet.

    Radiators with CH

For many years a lot of houses installed with pipework coming down from the ceiling to the rads. But if you want your room to heat up without fan assistance then you will need rads to closer to the ground or it will only heat the area the high level

How to fit a 3 wire thermostat on an existing 5 wire installation?

Why on earth would you be trying to fit a thermostat below a boiler? That wiring was in a RF thermostat receiver box. That’s what you should be putting back in . Get a center brand one from plumb center. About £70 inc vat and wire in. The actual stat can then be in either the lounge or a more...

    Leak ?

There can be a few causes for air to accumulate in a rad. 1 rad will always collect more than any other. Can be system degrading in which case you get hydrogen. Most common is leaking radiator valves and pump valves( not leaking water but on the negative pressure side allowing air to be drawn...

    Limescale reducer /inhibitor

Both the electrolytic and the magnetic types will reduce the formation of scale build up, but they won’t eradicate it. Depending upon how hard your water is as to how effective they are. They produce the best results within the range 150ppm to 350ppm. Above these figures they still work but you...

manifold under floor heating best position

For that size property only use 1 manifold. It’s way too small to use 2 manifolds. Ideally in the centre of the house but you could put under the stairs. Any flow and return sections from the manifold to the specific room should have a corrugated sleeve slid over to stop heating along its route...

    UFH Experiences and recommends please

polythene sheet over celotex. then clip pipe to it. use MLCP on 150 to 200mm centers. mlcp is vastly superior product with better heat conductivity

Vaillant Ecofit Pure 30kw Error F20/F23 from underfloor heating

My guess is that you either don't have an automatic bypass valve or it's set too high. shouldn't get a f20 with heat only as it doesn't apply. F23 is caused due to heat rate going up too quickly. The other probable cause is that the boiler is too big. We have had similar problems with the...

Ongoing HRM Wallstar lockout problem - oil boiler

often on that age it's not the photocell that fails but corroded connections between photocell and it's lead. if you have the 970 series control box it has fault diagnosis when it locks out to tell you a possible cause. But sometimes they can be an absolute pig to pin point down to a specific...

Water rushing sound in a couple of rads even after bleeding system

Just shut all rads apart from 1 rad and open up both lockshield and trv on full. Run on heating mode for 2 or 3 mins. Do this on every rad individually. You will hear the air get pushed in the offending rads. Then shut all lock shields to 1.5 turns open. This should have the balancing pretty close

    Bleeding Skirting Radiators!!

Just undo that valve fully for 10 mins with the heating on. Then shut off and open 1.5 turns. Should be OK then

    Hot water Temperature

At full flow boiler is designed to raise water temperature by 35 degrees. As incoming water temperature has dropped due to the weather you will need to limit the flow a little to get the desired temp

is that definately a surrey flange and not a wessex flange. if its a wessex you need to alter as the vent is out the side and the top connection for the pumped outlets

    Underfloor heating

Conservatory under floor would work but needs to be in its own circuit with its own pump set and blending valve and bypass. Just be careful in depth if winter as it might cause the air unit to struggle.
