Does this plan look right?...attached drawings

Things are now developing and I'm looking at the possibility to install Under floor heating throughout the ground floor at the same time as insulating and raising the floor level of one room by 140mm approx. Having spent some time searching on best methods etc and coming across conflicting info...

Lay 18mm Engineered flooring directly onto UFH spreaders...

Hello, Should I be concerned about advice I've had with regards to it being OK to lay 18mm Engineered flooring directly onto UFH spreader plates, with UFH pipes running through them? I was surprised to hear that it's OK, but they said the spreader plate diffuses the heat sufficiently to...

Floating insulation for UFH on suspended floor...but not between joists!

I understand that there are a number of ways and using screed is one of them, however, you can also lay certain floor coverings (19mm Engineered board in my case) directly onto UFH pipes inserted into 'spreader' panels, without any other intermediate substrate between them. Does anyone have...

Floating insulation for UFH on suspended floor...but not between joists!

Hello, I'm looking for some thick insulation panels for UFH pipe, preferably thicker than 25mm, and the only things I can find are Polystyrene (EPS) which I understand isn't as efficient as PIR boards...any ideas?

Floating insulation for UFH on suspended floor...but not between joists!

Hello All, Has anyone advise or experience on the following... I'm looking to lay slab insulation on top of an existing suspended floor (ground floor & well ventilated) as a floating floor and then top it with Engineered top boards. Floor height is not a problem and it seems easier to do...

Lay Celotex / Kingspan over existing suspended floor - OK to do?

Thanks John..do you think theses a problem with doing that on top of an existing suspended floor though? From a strength or flexible / springy perspective?...the existing floor certainly doesn't feel at all springy .

Lay Celotex / Kingspan over existing suspended floor - OK to do?

Thanks for the info, I'm getting differing views on this which means it's not normal to do, I guess? Through DIYNOT I've advised it's OK as long as there's good underside ventilation, which there is. The idea of the final floor being springy did cross my mind, but only because I was laying...

Lay Celotex / Kingspan over existing suspended floor - OK to do?

Thanks, So it's OK to lay the celotex / kingspan on top of the existing suspended floor but, I need to lay a screed down over the insulation before laying final boards?

Lay Celotex / Kingspan over existing suspended floor - OK to do?

Apparently not, because its common practice to lay 100mm onto a concrete slab, and the existing floor is solid even though it's suspended ground floor. That said really happy to get more feedback on my assumptions!

Lay Celotex / Kingspan over existing suspended floor - OK to do?

Hello all, I need to raise the floor of an existing room to match the others by approx 140mm, the room is suspended and has a reasonable T&G floor but not insulated, is very well ventilated with multiple air bricks and bone dry. Can I simply lay 100mm insulation slabs onto the existing T&G...

Lifted floorboards to Celotex and need some advice please!

Another question... I'm also looking to raise another suspended floor (3.5m x 8m) to match the rest of the house. Its sitting about 140mm lower than the others, is a T&G on decent joists and is very structurally sound. There are 5 air bricks to this part of the house. Can I simply put down...

Lifted floorboards to Celotex and need some advice please!

Thanks.. Knocking a few angled nails right at the bottom of the joists, and then pressing the slabs down into position between the joists wresting on the nails, makes sense...but you said top of the joist...!?

Lifted floorboards to Celotex and need some advice please!

Using Mineral wool sounds much easier to fit, what are peoples suggestions around moisture barriers etc...as the solid type provides the alumminium covering and once taped up to behind the skirting is all sealed up... There seemed to be a general feeling that a barrier is a bust...with good...

Lifted floorboards to Celotex and need some advice please!

OK thanks. Just out of curiosity, why do new buildings and extensions etc seem to always use the slab form of insulation under wooden floors?

Lifted floorboards to Celotex and need some advice please!

Thanks John, I'm guessing id need a greater depth of mineral wool to match 100mm Celotex?...what about damp issues, that said its dry down there it seems. Am I needing to get all the sand / rubble out to make it tidy or is there a genuine benefit to things?

Lifted floorboards to Celotex and need some advice please!

...my initial guess was to throw in a few metal 90 degree brackets just to hold them there..?
