Hi all,
I have been quoted, by a friend (not a very close friend) £1500 for a full rewire of a 1930's semi. The price includes 4 double sockets in the living rooms and two bedrooms. New switches. A new fuse box and new wires. New wires. Basically everything you need. Is £1500 a good...
Hi all,
Has anybody ever used Wren kitchens and are they any good? I have read some stories, good and bad. They seem to make good quality kitchens at reasonable prices Any advice would be very useful and any rough prices would be great.
Thanks
Thanks mate,
I thought it was a chimney. What is a chimney doing in the kitchen? Do you have any ideas on how much the job would cost? We are going to move into the house soon so a list of possible costs would be great.
Hi People,
I have a brick wall seperating my kitchen and morning room. I have only recently moved in. Im not sure what the wall use to be but im guessing it is some kind of chimney. Does anybody have any ideas and if so will it be possible to knock through and insert an RSJ? Any ideas on...
Hi,
I have a standard 1930s 3 bed semi. The front bedroom bay window ceiling is leaking which is making the plaster flake off.
I have been told by a roofer that the bay may not need refelting and that a waterproof resin can be painted over what is already there? Is this correct and if so...
Hi All,
I am moving into a new house hopefully in the new year. I am planning to have a wall between the morning room and kitchen knocked through. It is a 1930s 3 bed semi design. The kitchen is an extension built onto the house so the wall that would need knocking down is a load bearing...
I cant even remember Sooey, Im just glad its fixed. As you say though I wouldnt have paid if they had not have fixed it. It took me 20 mins and some questions on here so im made up. Save myself a load of money, just had to buy a new timer.
Thanks HH1 and Gas_man_gaz you have saved me a load of money. I got two quotes for two totally different parts I was told I needed. One for £120 and the other for £300 so im made up. Thanks again!!
Thanks HH1, that worked a treat. Can I just ask though, is that legal? I mean if a British Gas engineer came around and seen the two black wires connected by tape would he be having words? I think I will be in the market for a new timer though becasue now I know thats the problem.
Thanks
Guys thanks for this but how on earth do I link the wires together? I have taken the timer out of the boiler and I can disconnect the wies but that were my skills stop. Any chance of a step by step guide for a novice?
Thanks
Gas_man_gaz thank you for pointing that out to Agile. It seems not all chimpanzees have leant to read yet. Give them a few more million years and they might, hehe. Sorry couldn’t resist.
Do you have any ideas how much something like that would cost and is it easy to fix?
There are no...
Jackecole - the controls are on the boiler, that is all.
Sooey - The controls on the timer just don’t work. The pre set programmes don’t come on and I cant use the over ride button.
Agile – the CH will not come on full stop
Hi All,
We have just bought a new house. The extension has a strange corner window which we dont like. We would like to brick that up and create a new window. in the centre of the extension. Any ideas if this is a big job and how much it could cost?
Thanks all
