    Vaillant EcoTec F76 Fault code

I have just had the F76 fault code on my Vaillant EcoTec Plus 837 which was installed in 2010, which I know relates to a cut off switch detecting overheating of the heat exchanger. My plumber suggested I contact Vaillant directly as they offered a £299 fixed price repair service. I phoned them...

    Bosch Tumble Dryer Faulty

If that the case then I'll have a go at repairing it. Can anyone point me to how they know its a thermostat problem please? I can't find anything on Google. Wouldn't a failed thermostat mean the dryer would still work, but wouldn't heat up? My dryer won't work at all.

    Bosch Tumble Dryer Faulty

Thanks. Im in two minds whether to get it repaired or just scrap it and buy a new one. Its a few years old and gets used lots every day. A repair will surely be £100+, yet I can buy a cheap brand new Beko DTGC7000W unit for £200. Seems a shame to scrap an item that can be repaired, but the...

Block paving drive weeds keep coming

Get rid of the weeds, top up the sand and seal the drive with Resiblock, it’s brilliant. My drive was sealed with it 6 yrs ago and I’m only just getting a few weeds through as it needs resealing again.

Bosch Condenser Dryer "Clean Container" (secret flap door)

Since cleaning out the sump under the removable flap, the dreaded 'container' light came back on today, with the machine stopping!!! Im wondering if the moisture sensors need attention? I think I have found them on my Bosch CLassixx 7, which if Im correct are these two silver curved bars just...

Bosch Condenser Dryer "Clean Container" (secret flap door)

Just found this flap in my Clasixx 7. Pulled one of the retaining tabs back towards me and at the same time inserted a thin bit of metal, bit like a nail file, under the flap which was enough to raise one side. I left the metal under the flap to ti keep it raised and then pulled the other...

    Frozen hot water pipe?

Not entirely sure why the cold water push fit connector decided to burst when it did. Could it have anything to do with me heating the hot water pipe, or just purely coincidental and lucky that it happened whilst I was there?

    Frozen hot water pipe?

All sorted. I heated up the pipe with a hot air gun and it worked. But at the same time I had a bit of a disaster... The combi boiler is in the garage and its pipes have to pass through the garage wall, along the outside of the house and then go through the house wall and inside. The area where...

    Frozen hot water pipe?

Any advice for dealing with what I assume is a frozen hot water pipe please? My hot water taps are bone dry, but my cold water taps work fine, as does my central heating. My boiler is located in my garage, with pipes coming into the house. A short section of this length of pipe work is exposed...

New fence professionally installed just not right....help

Personally, whenever I have built fences with concrete posts, I don't put the fence panels in until all the posts are set. Putting them in together with the posts is surely asking for trouble as a bit of wind will make the fence panel act as a sail and move the posts?

Advice on best tool to cut curtain pole please

But its the perfect excuse to add to your tool collection. Whenever I find a use for a power tool, I buy it. I then start finding that I use that tool a lot and it pays for itself. Shouldn't need to resort to excuses to buy a power tool though

New fence professionally installed just not right....help

Because if he paid by credit card then the card company could be liable, or maybe he could stop the payment? But by paying cash then the money has now gone, and never to be seen again.
