    Frozen condensing pipe

No - I don't think he means that. Some boiler manufacturers recommend using 32mm for outside condensate pipe runs to prevent freezing, so come off the boiler in 20mm and step up to 32mm at a convenient point, preferably inside if possible.

Want to Wireless on a Worcester 24CDi RSF

I've got the DT10RF (mk1) on my WB 37CDi combi and it was 'plug and play', so very easy to fit. I haven't found the range to be that great though - I originally tried locating the controller in the dining room but it kept losing contact with the receiver on the boiler, so the signal doesn't...

    Viessmann or Worcester Bosch?

OP - I've had a Worcester Bosch 37CDi combi installed for over a year now and it hasn't given me any problems in that time so I'm pleased with it so far. I've had no need to use the inbuilt HW storage either, as it heats the water quick enough without it.

    New boiler, TRV's and roomstat

Yes - you'll get a much more efficient heating system if you fit TRVs and a room stat, otherwise your boiler may continue to operate, even once the rooms are up to a comfortable temperature. If you're going to connect up the room stat (or fit a new one), then fit TRVs to all the rads except...

    Baxi Bahama 100...

The Bahama in my previous house had what I thought was a dodgy flow switch - if you didn't turn a HW tap on fully enough, the boiler would fire up, the flow rate would decrease and the boiler would shut down and lock out. Changing the DHW flow switch helped, in my case.

Swapping a Worcester Highflow for a Baxi Duotec

Thanks guys - I've been reading this forum long enough to know that choice of boiler manufacturers was always going to be a contentious issue :) I've had a bad experince with a Baxi combi in the past, which is why I went for a Worcester Bosch CDi combi myself last year. I also appreciate...

Swapping a Worcester Highflow for a Baxi Duotec

I posted a few weeks ago about trying to sort the ventilation issues with my mother-in-law's Worcester Highflow 3.5/4.5 floor-standing combi. Well in the meantime, after having a problem with the pilot light, she's decided that she wants a new boiler and got British Gas in to give her a quote...

Which is the top 40"+ tv now & plasma or lcd

Panasonic don't make LCD TVs larger than 37", so I'm sure that's for a very good reason. I did some research a while back and found that the plasma sets looked better than LCD to my eyes (in terms of picture quality, contrast and viewing angles especially), however there are pros and cons for...

100cm2 ducting to outside required - any ideas ?

No they didn't, but I'm more than capable of doing the work myself - I'm just trying to suss the options and source the materials.

100cm2 ducting to outside required - any ideas ?

Thanks for the comments. To answer a few of your points : WB have manuals for many of the Highflow models, but not the 3.5/4.5 unfortunately. Luckily, the mother-in-law does have one however - I just don't have one to hand here. Your vent figures are spot on - I used two vents for the...

100cm2 ducting to outside required - any ideas ?

Sorry, I didn't have the model number to hand when I posted the message - it's a Worcester Highflow 3.5 (or 4.5) BF, OF or RSF, according to the manual. I'm not familiar with the different types of flue, but it goes out the top of the boiler into the loft and up through the roof. The...

100cm2 ducting to outside required - any ideas ?

Unfortunately not - the airing cupboard doesn't have any external walls and requires two huge vents itself - a top one of 200cm2+ and a bottom one of almost 500cm2 ! Sorting out vents large enough for that has been a nightmare, as the ratings for even the larger square vents commonly...

100cm2 ducting to outside required - any ideas ?

My mother-in-law has a floor-standing Worcester Bosch combi in an airing cupboard. The installation instructions require a 100cm2 duct to be installed from the adjacent room (a landing in this case) to the outside and she only currently has a cylindrical duct with a diameter of 10cm2 (ie...

    worcester greenstar digi wireless wallstat

I've had to mount my WB DT10RF in the kitchen, as the range is so poor that if I put it anywhere further from the boiler (in a more conventional location such as the lounge or dining room, for example) then the receiver keeps losing it's signal. In it's current location, the stat is around 9m...

turn my interior house walls PINK.. Help!!

You must have a different way of doing things over there in Canada ! If you want to paint a wall beige here in the UK, you can either buy a tin of paint the correct colour or, if you can't find the exact colour you want, you can get pretty much any colour mixed up for you at your local paint...

    Dilemna....new boiler

When I was researching a new boiler last year, I didn't find any boilers that used a 15mm gas connection - all the ones I looked at required 22mm. If you were to go for a more powerful combi, you might even find that you need an even larger diameter tube, depending on the distance and bends...
