Just to clarify, have you got a fibre washer, rubber washer or rubber o-ring between the coupler and cistern plastic pipe?
You really need a rubber washer and don't apply too much torque to the plastic. If you do you'll rotate the plastic pipe and loosen the nut securing it to the cistern...
Speaking from experience I would stick with copper pipe in the wall. Contrary to the marketing speel, plastic pipe doesn't bend easily and the fitting are huge when compared to copper. This is important if you need to bend the pipe to run across the wall to the radiator.
I'd wrap the pipe in...
I spent 2 hours last night trying to get out of the car park at the O2 in Greenwich. The management there are obviously taking customer service tips from Ryanair. For the privilege of sitting in the car for 2 hours I paid £20. The Beyonce show was very good and there was a guest appearance from...
There ain't nothing standard in this game.
Ideal - upward slope
Biasi - level
Worcester/Vaillant - upward slope
I can't remember which are downward slope at this ungodly hour.
The only reliable thing is read the instructions!.
Why are you banging on about 35mm pipe??. Have you ever heard about a pipe sizing calculation?. As a small example 28mm can supply 9.4m3 over 9 meters. Get a proper survey done by a RGI and things might not be as bad as been portrayed here.
The meter size should be regarded as a separate...
Thats a very bad location!
As you know the regs state that the terminal has to be 300mm above the ground. That's for the outlet for the flues gas AND the air inlit.
If it's below 300mm the unsafe situation say NCS. However they also say if there is a risk of PoC re-entering the property...
If the filling loop is disconnected that just leaves the secondary plate heat exchanger. If it's cracked inside it will let high pressure cold water through into the primary heating circuit.
I seen this a few times and always removed them. It's usually a sign that there is a leak somewhere. The two big problems of these botches are the leak is not fixed and the system is been constantly been topped up with oxygen/mineral rich inhibitor free water. Within months this can lead to...
Well spotted!.
The standard then directs you to another clause where it gives the following reason for the restriction,
(8.6.1.b) the meter can be fitted and supported so as to restrict movement and reduce the likehood of tampering.
The only reason I've ever found for 2 anacondas not been approved is possible fraud. It's easier to move the meter and possibly get incorrect meter reading if you know what I mean. I've never seen any law/corgi gas regs about it but I'd say there are some gas company regs about it somewhere.
Here you've got 2 concentric flues joined together by some metallic flue liner. Notice the dots on the lower flue? Those are holes drilled into the flue to allow a bit more ventilation in to the loft!!! The whole lot was condemned and ripped out. (Photo taken by Gary). Goes to show you that if...
I wonder if the lower window would act like an inverted guillotine!. I'm certain this would need a flue guard which would scupper the whole installation.
How was this done?. Who did the glass cutting?. Then you get to the interesting bit. Is it legal? The flue terminal is more than 300mm from an openable window or vent!.
