    Bedding toilet pan...

Floor is solid concrete, can I use plumbers mait plus two big screws/rawlplugs, or should I use something with a bit more strength like silicone that will set? Thanks :)

Remember PitchFibre pipes? How do I connect my toilet to one

Oops, sorry Kirkgas, thought you meant use a normal 90 pan connector and rest the rope on the rubber sealing lips! Could you link me to a loose collar? Not sure exactly what you mean! Can the pan connector just be pulled out of the collar in future?

Remember PitchFibre pipes? How do I connect my toilet to one

Someone at work came up with a solution within seconds of asking... Put a short length of 110mm plastic soil pipe into the existing pipe, pack it out with rope a few inches down and then use plumbers mate or some other mastic to seal it in. Then what ever pan adaptors I need will fit into...

Remember PitchFibre pipes? How do I connect my toilet to one

Thanks for the replies. The rope/plumbers mait sounds like the solution I am looking for...basically I just need something that will get the job done if all other options fail. I am hoping that it wil be 110mm internal diametre but sods law it won't. Any alternatives to the plumbers mait...

Remember PitchFibre pipes? How do I connect my toilet to one

No, I think the pipe is 5" below the collar, collar is nearer 5 1/4". Distance from the wall isn't too much of a problem, I'm just going to end up with a large shelf behind the cistern. Box in/false wall could come in handy later as a replacement boiler might end up above the toilet in a...

Remember PitchFibre pipes? How do I connect my toilet to one

Ha! The reason I started a new post is to stop the original questions getting in the way of the current problem. I'm all set to box out from the wall to meet the new bog. The problem is I need advice on how to connect to the non-standard oversized soil pipe. All the pan connectors I've...

Remember PitchFibre pipes? How do I connect my toilet to one

I'm replacing my toilet, currently its a low level WC with S bend, the soil pipe rises out of a concrete floor. Currently I have a 5" (approx-if anyone can remember the standard sizes and even better the internal diameter that would be great!) pitchfibre pipe that protrudes about 30mm from...

Toilet soil pipe(EDITPan connector to fit 130mm soil pipe?)

Thanks Blondini, found one :) Is there a product that will help fit the pan to the oversized soil pipe? I think its around 130mm internal diameter and I don't want to resort to bodging a seal as I won't have time once I've started! I'm assuming all the normal pan connectors won't be big...

Toilet soil pipe(EDITPan connector to fit 130mm soil pipe?)

Thanks for the replies. First decision made...I'll box out and create a nice shelf behind. The black pipe is slightly narrower where it goes into the floor, maybe 120-130mm wide. Are there multifit type connectors that will fit this sort of size? What is standard by the way?! Removing...

Toilet soil pipe(EDITPan connector to fit 130mm soil pipe?)

BS2160 I think. John, I think the horizontal outlet of a new toilet would be past the soil pipe, the flexi pipe would have to double back on itself...not sure if it would have enough space?

Toilet soil pipe(EDITPan connector to fit 130mm soil pipe?)

The flash has picked up a BS standard and some other info on the soil pipe that might help :) The damp patch is where I've wiped off the dust.

Toilet soil pipe(EDITPan connector to fit 130mm soil pipe?)

[Subject Edited Tues 25th 17:30...need a pan connector to fit into a 130mm approx non standard soil pipe. Thanks for any help :) ] I've done a search for this but can't find much info so here goes... I'm replacing an old toilet that has what I presume is a S trap, the soil pipe exits...

    Poor garden tap pressure

Its tank fed because the convenient location for the tap was outside the bathroom, our bathroom is on the ground floor. The kitchen is next door and to have it plumbed from there would involve chasing out the floor or wall behind the cooker to get the pipe through. Pressure is fine...

    Poor garden tap pressure

Bought the B&Q one...it was in a blister pack but I went for it anyway. Works much better...has a traditional washer inside rather than the weird screwfix tap. Only problem is it doesn't have a check valve so I'll have to add one on the internal pipework. Though as its fed from the tank...

    Cable under a road

The tunneling thing is called a Mole Plow (Plough?) Specialist bit of kit, we sometimes use them at BT when we arn't allowed to dig up a road due to new tarmac etc. When I say we use them, we have to get in contractors so its unlikely you'd be able to get hold of one. Cobra is a flexible...

    Poor garden tap pressure

Noooo! Thats what put me off the kits. Used a pushfit T. I've had the tap apart once and couldn't see anything wrong, I think B&Q do them without packaging so might go and grab one to compare with the Screwfix jobby then return it if its no better ;)

    Poor garden tap pressure

Its tank fed, 5 metre drop from the tank. Looks like trying to get a feed from the rising main is the only option...just want to confirm that I haven't got a dodgy tap. Seems strange that the shower head (fed off the cold water tank via the bathroom taps) is nice and strong but the garden...
