    Dec/misterhelpful We're done! In the end I used an acrylic undercoat too. The topcoat has a really good finish, well i think it's really good :D Learnt a lot from doing this job, not least that it makes a massive difference to have half decent brush :D Thanks for all the advice...

    Thanks Misterhelpful for such a speedy response. Given what you've said, unless there are any other real disadvantages, I think I'll take the oil option. I guess the best way to achieve that flat smooth finish is to use a natural bristle brush ?... any other recommendations?

    Its a G2-20 panel... I've been advised to get the master code reset but the bit I can't get my head round is that I have L3 access, which I thought was the highest level of access. does this mean there is another code I haven't got?

    Sorry -just fully understood what you meant. Have just set the alarm using eng mode, unset again. Still no joy - won,t leave eng mode. :shock: Still shows SMS com fault in the event log and when you try and leave eng mode it won't go past the tamper checking stage.

    Ok Just tried it but can't leave eng mode. Just says manager reset rqd. I presume to do it you mean put the eng code in then enter followed by eng code then esc? Many thanks

    Ok, I have done as stated, put in the new service number. I then press esc, esc, esc back to the main banner which still says manager reset required. I also can't exit eng mode....I put in the code then press ESC... It does a tamper check then shows SMS conf fail but won't leave Eng mode...
