    Start/run capacitors

You can't tell the exact value without a caacitance meter or bridge. Capacitors are cheap enough in Maplin. See here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=motor%20capacitor&source=15&SD=Y

Mondeo Zetec '98 - intermittent rough idle

There's a rubber "T" piece in the vacuum line. This is located under the ignition coil. Check that, it's a common fault. A replacement is around £4 from Fords.

    Worcester Heatslave 20/25 flow switch

Can the flow switch be purchased anywhere without having to buy the brass "T" section ? It seems such a waste of materials and money to simply use the switch and dump all that brass. Worcester Heatslave Combi (oil) 20/25

    Biasi - Prisma 24se ( no hot water )

I changed the diaphragm on my boiler a few weeks ago. Simple job but not much room to work when refitting pipework. Takes around 1/2 hour. Diaphragm was around £8 delivered. Got it here http://www.mjtcontrols.co.uk/Appliance_Type3.aspx?Manufacture_ID=56&Appliance_Type=Gas+Boiler

    <£200ish Sliding Compound Mitre Saw

In a reply from Ryobi the EMS2026SCC and the EMS2026SCL are one and the same. Apparently Screwfix alter the info in their catalogue for promotional purposes. I just bough the "SCC" from Screwfix and received the "SCL"

    Dusk 2 Dawn -Well almost.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, you are right on that. What is the most reliable Dusk to Dawn switch ? I would prefer to pay that bit extra rather than fit junk.

    Dusk 2 Dawn -Well almost.

I need to fit a path light which comes on at dusk and off around 4 hours later. Anything reliable on the market suitable for this ?? The lamp will be a low energy 15 or 20 watt.

    Gate Hinge Fixings

I need to hang a pair of gate hinges onto concrete block wall. The original fixings were screws direct into the concrete (no plugs),and not very secure after only a year's use. It is a small (ish) gate but quite heavy. I was thinking of using 10mm x 70mm Stainless Coach Screws into plastic...

    Lawn Scarification

One pass is fine. A perpendicular pass will break up the lawn too much Take care at the end of a run ..... stop the machine and place it i n position for the next run before starting. If you try to turn around with the machine running you will churn up a load of lawn.

    Underfloor heating discussion......

This time of year RADS for me every time. You can turn on RAD heating for 1/2 hour and get results, not so with Under Floor Heating. Underfloor heating in a cold house can take a day to give you the results you need. Pain in the bum as far as I am concerned.

    BIASI TIMER AGAIN

I am looking for an external timeswitch for my Biasi 28S boiler, mainly because the Biasi switch seems to create more problems than it's worth. As far as I can see from the circuit it would need a timeswitch with "floating" contacts. All the timers I have seen so far have the time contact...

Broken lock on upvc external door - HELP

Removing the old lock is easy but cannot be posted for security reasons. New euro cylinder around £7 and with fitting and removing the old lock I think £30 would be a fair price. Crooks would charge £180
