Crack in brickwork - is it a big problem?

Hi all, I have a utility room, off my kitchen, which is basically the rear portion of my garage. The outer most wall, which seems to be just single brick construction, has a crack in it. I should say that it is a painted brick finish in the room, no plaster or other covering on brick. When I...

Advice appreciated on boxing in a Baxi 50 OF boiler

Thanks for your replies folks, it's appreciated. One last query about adequate outside ventilation, I have 2 vents just now, although one is low down behind washing machine, and the other is a redundant tumble dryer vent hole, about 1m from the floor, which I have fitted a non closing vent...

Advice appreciated on boxing in a Baxi 50 OF boiler

Thanks guys, will check manual again re distance from combustable materials, but if all ok there, you think it ok to box in boiler only (makes sense not to box in flue after what you said about getting heat from it)? So a boxed in (cupboard) effect with solid front door/removable panel with...

Advice appreciated on boxing in a Baxi 50 OF boiler

Thanks m8, I understand now that it's either all or nothing, Ie boxed in to ceiling or not at all. Thanks. What about construction of cupboard, mdf ok? Or does it need to be something more 'fireproof'? Sorry if the above question has an obvious answer  Just want to be sure...

    Tumble dryer vent

Just wanted to finish off the thread. Hired a core cutter from local plant hire place. £20 inc vat for the day, job took me literally 10 minutes, and an absolutely perfect 4" wide hole appeared. A simple job, but well done I reckon. Thanks to kev for his advice :D Cheers

Hi folks, Got a little wondering, maybe someone can help me out.... I'm in the process of putting up a 30' length of fencing, consisting of 6'x6' lap fence with 3"x3"x8' posts. Posts in place with postcrete to a depth of between 20"-24". Problem is that I seem to still get a bit of sway at...

    Bathroom light zoning

Thanks guys, appreciate the help :) One thing that I may be getting hung up on though, is the zoning. I have been looking for lights that states specifically "suitable for zone 2", but unable to find them. I have seen other "bathroom" lamps which are rated to ipx4. Are these ok for zone 2...

Hey, you gotta love the banter! :D Seriously though, can anyone tell what all the bits are? What they do, what doesn't look right and needs fixed, what doesn't look right but should be ok, etc? And the last thing, the RCD, how and where should I put it? But understand this, before you...
