We went to a local tyre garage, he said he didn't recommend change the front to rear...Strange that Ford advise it so do tyre manufacturer's, that is the reason I undertook the job. Now all done.

    Fiesta 2013 remove alloy wheels

Sorted. I measured them with Vernier calliper's, 19.00 to 19.20. One wheel was all 19, so I could remove all the nuts. The other wheels I have forced a 19mm socket on using a mallet & removed the nuts. What crap If I had been out & got a puncture I would need a breakdown company to sort it. I...

22 mm thickness floorboards old house

A timber merchant should have a thicknesser machine, he will charge for thicker wood & plane down. Could be costly. Where I used to live had a great timber merchant, always cutting to exact sizes.

    Plumbed or electric towel radiator

My downstairs cloakroom had a plumbed radiator, as the room was cold even in the summer I replaced it with an electric one. Its thermostatic on the lowest setting, it does a brilliant job. It only gets turned off for about a month midsummer. Also I put one in the main bathroom, where there is a...

    By Fold door Misting Panel

One of the panels is misting up & needs a replacement. The glass size is 1880 x 59 cm double glazed safety glass, in a wooden frame. I am struggling to find people who can do/quote this job. I have been in touch with the original supplier (been fitted 14 yrs), who have said they can do it. Just...

Old wood for burning in fireplace stove

I burn everything in a wood burner as fumes go straight out. With an open fire unless you have a really good draught the fumes may not all go up, but saying that I would burn it on an open nfire once the fire had a good burn, ensure good ventilation.

    Spray Sealant. Recommendations

Im not certain thats the problem, before I used silicone on it I was going to remove the glass, but cant remove the pins on the beading & its a large glass panel about 4ft x 2ft toughened. I really looking for a 'bodge'.

    Spray Sealant. Recommendations

New summer house, water is seeping in (not a lot enough to wet the floor). I thought it was from the window as it was not put on a bed just straight on the wood ledge. I went round the glass with silicone a few months ago, this water is still seeping in. So I am looking at using a spray sealant...

    Is carpenter overspecifying?

I bet his labour cost is more than the materials. Unless its not going to be your long term house go cheapest. If you intend a long time home, get his recommendation. Thats what I would do.

The Skiing Thread: (No B**x*t Or Politics!)

My last 15 or so trips have been to Courchevel. As I am a solo skier its about single room prices & I have been happy in what I was paying, unfortunatly the company I use has scaled back & are now not using the Chalet/Hotel. So I am still going to the 3 valleys @ Brides Le Bains.

The Skiing Thread: (No B**x*t Or Politics!)

There are plenty of ski forum's about & they dont talk about DIY, Brexit yes as it has/will have an impact. My 2021 ski trip had many changes before it was cancelled (full no hassle refund even car parking). France no signs of opening. My 2022 is booked.
