Hard to say for sure, but it sounds like the ignition rate isn't correct.

Can be installed anywhere that the manufacturers in structions say - ie min clearance top, bottom, front and sides. So long as there is a route for the flue, pressure relief and condensate pipework, and of course the boiler can be supplied with flow return gas and hot/cold then no probs.

Either your flue is getting water ingress or the burner pressure isn't set correctly - allowing condensation to build up. Both of these faults need to be checked out by a GOOD heating engineer. AL
