Unsafe gas valve or me over-worrying?

Hello,

I have a Potteron Suprema 30, otherwise known as a piece of crap.

Recently a CORGI man, replaced the PCB and the gas valve. The new PCB is by Siemens I think, the one with the complete new gray harness type thing.

Once it was all up and running I noticed that when using the medium heat setting on the boiler, same setting as before, I got a lot of kettling noises. So I turned down the temperature on the boiler to quite low.

But, a couple of times, I have had something that I can only describe as an exploding noise. A massive bang when the boiler has lit up.

Admittely it corrects its self by resetting, and it hasn't happened for a while but I wonder now whether the gas valve has been set incorrectly or something?

I'm thinking its letting out too much gas which would explain why I have had to turn down the temperature on the boiler to stop kettling, and would explain the couple of loud bangs when lighting? Unfortunately, I'm an idiot, so I don't really want to phone the CORGI man back telling him his job when clearly I don't know what I'm talking about, so I was hoping for some expert advice please?

Thank you

call the corgi man back and tell him you now have explosive ignition and you are worried. Don't just leave it!

Jesus - why do these nomarks just bolt on a gas valve without setting it up properly????????????????

You'll have to get him back. Sounds like the leads are not connected properly or its over gassed.

Thanks for the replies. I'll call him back. Does it all fit together with the whole turning down the temperature thing as well then?

It's just done it just now!!!!!

It's almost like it takes too long to light or something, I'm confused now. If there was too much gas I would have thought that it would light right away.

I'll get him back :(

Thanks again for the quick replies

Hard to say for sure, but it sounds like the ignition rate isn't correct.
