    Fireplace

Hi all, recently removed a Gas fire from fireplace, how do you go about making some type of removable frame that can be boarded to allow a small electric heater to be recessed in the existing opening. Many Thanks.

    Cooker Cable

Chased the top of the wall out directly under the joist for about 150mm. As you suggested the cable should run as you predicted. Would like to thank you for your time and help, much appreciated.

    Cooker Cable

Thanks very much for the advice, really appreciate it. After I got the cable fished out and pulled to the new location, then I saw the issue with the joist, I thought I'd made a big mistake and it wasn't do-able. Thanks again.

    Cooker Cable

I plan to put a bit of plasterboard back up to cover the holes, I'll need to notch a bit out to allow for the cable to pass through, what you think? Thanks again.

Thanks very much for your advice, I'll give that a go. This will leave the joist untouched will it? Many Thanks.

    Cooker Cable

The battens are 15mm thick for the ceiling, you think this is achievable? I don't want to cut into the joists. I was thinking I may see better once I start the chase under the joist. Many Thanks.

No sorry there's nothing, joist is up tight to the main wall the the extension roof board on top.

    Cooker Cable

I can't, as board for the flat roof lays on top of the joist, going behind the joist would hit the board. Many Thanks.

    Cooker Cable

Hi all, moved cooker cable from behind the back of the cooker, hoping to reposition the switch to the side of the cooker. The wiring is on a flat roof kitchen extension so only accessible from below. How do I get around the joist in the photo so I can chase new route down the wall? They'll be a...
