I plan to put a bit of plasterboard back up to cover the holes, I'll need to notch a bit out to allow for the cable to pass through, what you think?
Thanks again.
Yep, youll probably even have space to secure it to the underside of the joist with a clip to keep it tight and out of the way, or all round band if youre putting oval in your chase.

Thanks very much for the advice, really appreciate it. After I got the cable fished out and pulled to the new location, then I saw the issue with the joist, I thought I'd made a big mistake and it wasn't do-able.
As I understand this: Drill through the joist (red circle) as steep as possible downwards, Make your chase (black lines) and drill/chisel out behind the joistView attachment 376483View attachment 376484.
However as you have the new battens giving the extra space between the joist and new cladding View attachment 376486
Chased the top of the wall out directly under the joist for about 150mm. As you suggested the cable should run as you predicted.
Would like to thank you for your time and help, much appreciated.
