    VW Polo. Weird 'battery' problem

Any ideas where the main (from battery) chassis connection is?? I was expecting it to be next to the battery. It looks like a cable lug is near there but can't see any connection. I'm thinking its maybe on the bulkhead after it comes off the gearbox? Haynes manual is telling me nowt!!

    Extractor Fan Positioning

When I say crappy, was really the LA contract service engineers!! We had never ending issues with fault F5, the sticky flap. Then last May a young SE came and spent an hour on it. "I've greased n cleaned the flap." Not had an F5 since. We get F4's but the condensate pipe slopes up, well, unless...

    Extractor Fan Positioning

I thought it may be an issue, hence I mentioned the combi location!! Its an ex LA property, the (crappy!) boiler is a Veissman Vitodens 100. The flue goes straight through the roof is all I can say at the moment. As to whether its balanced or not.....

    Extractor Fan Positioning

Wondering where I should locate the extractor fan before commissioning the new shower. First thought would be to adapt the current airbrick hole??? Second would be through the gable end, trouble is that's the wall that gets any prevailing wind (gale!). Third option would be to go through...

    'Energy saving' scam call

In fits of boredom, I love keeping the cold calls from "Windows Security Centre" from our Asian/Indian brethren going for as long as I can. I've recently found out that they can be quite adept at basic Anglo-Saxon bad language!! Either that or grab the referees whistle that hangs off my PC desk!

Switched Live doesn't affect Extractor Fan

Probably irrelevant but... Looking at the exposed copper connections on the r,b,y cables, of which there should be none. Are you sure the cables are actually being gripped by the screws in the choc block? From your picture I appreciate you've not a lot of cable to play with!!

    VW Polo. Weird 'battery' problem

SWMBO was returning from work one night last week in her S reg. Polo when (I quote) "it was like the battery n everything died, the clock reset and battery light came on". Then she drove home OK. So I go out a couple of days later, check battery connections, looking good n clean. Yet to find...

What tricks do you guys have for underfloor cabling?

The ones I linked to are more for the (cheap end) pro market. ToolStation, Screwfix etc. etc. sell similar. The draper ones would be ok for 'rare use'. Some of the cheaper ones are not as flexible and can split. Google for cable rods (which sounds like you have!!) or cable access kit. Are...
