    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

Tibbot- We only have a small bungalow so wanted a combi in the loft so we can gain an extra kitchen cupboard and get the space of the old HW tank back in the 2nd bedroom. I know combis are less reliable than the old style (which worries me) but that's why I'm looking for the most reliable...

    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

ah sorry, this thread only? I just saw the other one and it looked relevant. I just called ATAG and technical said they'd spotted this and it was an error and in the process of being changed...I guess maybe the same could be said for the Intergas as their scores are very low (62%!). I have...

Atag A325EC or Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30 ?

Hi, hope you see this, I looked at the sedbuk site (as was) and the ATAG 325 ECX you mention only got 69.3% hot water efficiency in any case! The intergas got 62.1% WB 30Si and Vaillant ET plus got 75% and 74.4% respectively. most confusing...and they acheive this without the flue heat...

    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

Cut to SEDBUK and the ATAG 325ECX mentioned in the post only gets 69.3% for hot water efficiency so round and round we go! Sheesh! http://www.ncm-pcdb.org.uk/sap/pcdbdetails.jsp?pid=26&id=016353&type=105&mid=000227

    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

ah....I found this thread which discusses the hot water problem and ATAG A325ECX is recomended over intergas (with regards to the hot water efficiency) so now I'm really confused! http://www.diynot.com/forums/plumbing/atag-a325ec-or-intergas-combi-compact-hre-36-30.378845/ It was before...

    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

Thanks for quick replies guys. It's a shame about their lack of support given their weak place in the marketplace, it amplifies other concerns. What did you think about the hot water rating thing? Weird as I called IGUK and their tech dept said it was the only fully condensing boiler in HW...

    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

Update, I went on intergas.co.uk (I thought Atmos was for UK, intergas for Holland so I didn't try this before) and there are four installers within 20minutes of me (BN41 2BQ). Still not many but more reassuring than before... Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks again! G.M.B...

    Question re Intergas/Atmos Combi

Hi, was reading about these with interest. Seems like they have a few very stout fans on the forums but also some detractors- mainly that they have faults too (eg PCB, error 4) but hardly any support, after-care or customer service as hardly anyone in UK has them. I went on website to find a...

    Airbrick Sleeves

Hi, does anyone know about this or if not can suggest a place to ask/look for a solution? The two holes are just an inch or two out of alignment. I need to get this sorted before winter weather. Thanks.

    Airbrick Sleeves

Cool thanks will do. However the ones I've seen look complex to retrofit. I just need to get a slight downward slope (down towards the outer leaf - at the moment the slope is slightly the wrong way round). Options could be to chip out half a brick or take out an extra brick and replace it...

    Airbrick Sleeves

Hi, really my question was "how do I get the cavity sleeve to slope downwards to the outer leaf if the bricks don't line up that way?" And a sort of side question of "do I need to try to retrofit cavity trays/weep vents or will they be ok without?" Sorry if this was unclear, I'm not in a...

    Airbrick Sleeves

Hi, I'm replacing my old unsleeved airbricks with sleeved ones to try to improve ventilation to help with damp. I'm placing three underfloor and one (double one) at just below ceiling height. I've read up on it a fair bit and the consensus seems to be that it is within my basic diy...

    Mud/sand/insulation in cavity wall

It seems to be a lot packed in there rather than odds and ends which made me think that it may be there for a reason? If not I hope it's not all around the house! If so time to get the pro's in I guess...

    Mud/sand/insulation in cavity wall

Hi, I'm installing some airbrick's at the moment to help ventilate my subfloor. When I took out a brick I found that the cavity below the DPM is filled with damp mud, sand, bits of bricks and pellets of old cavity wall insulation. Does anyone know why this would be? It would seem to be...

How to remove old square nails from floor?

Thanks all for the tips. Once I found out about cutting the T&G I stopped knackering the boards and got it all up...still took about 30mins per board though!

How to remove old square nails from floor?

Thanks for quick replies guys! Can't knock them through I'm afraid Andy. I tried that but they are too big and "notched". I think I may have to use the hole drill....unless anyone else has any ideas?

How to remove old square nails from floor?

Hi, hope you can help. I have tongue and groove floorboards held at the joists by these big rectangular nails. They have a rectangular head with a kind of slight notch in one end creating a little "hook". I've never seen them before (hence the overly long description) but the same things held...

Possible to vent extractor fan through this wall?

Hi, I have a similar query. See this thread is old. Shall I post here and resurrect this thread to keep all info in same place or just post new thread? Thanks, D
