    Replacement Tumble Dryer

Had a Hotpoint vented tumble drier for almost 30 years. still going strong after only 1 x belt and 2 x lint filter chamges. I'm not sure why they say vented ones are less economical, programmes seem to take so long on new machines. I know they draw more load through the element but they dry so...

    Speed detection displays

Noticed this a few times and always been puzzled about how these things measure your speed. If I'm driving behind a high vehicle ( wagon or even van) as the vehicle in front of me passes the display and then I pass in my little Suzuki the reading always increases by 2 or 3 mph even though we are...

    Shed Termination

It's just the sockets for the plug pins that would be limited to 13A not the terminals for the wires.

Predator power washer new. No pressure now

Is the lance a 2 piece one that you can interchange the bottom for different fittings. If so is there an o-ring on the plug in part as if that has come off it will allow the lance to suck air in and drop the pressure.

How far into the machine did the supply reach. Was there an input to and output from the suppressor. Not familiar with your machine but does the door being open cause a similar situation. Just wondering if you have problems with the door interlock or switch actuator. If it helps in diagnosing...

Gas hob - one control not sparking

Normally one of the igniters (the non firing one in your case ) has either broken or more likely contaminated. Remove the pan support and the burner ring and you should see the igniter sticking up. A white ceramic insulator and terminal in the middle of it. Clean it gently with an old toothbrush...

A spokesperson said: "Turning the thermostat up higher does not make your home warm up any quicker." Really?

Our new Honeywell room stat works in a similar fashion. If I remember correctly it's something to do with the smart function keeping you comfortable. I presume it's so that you get used to the rise in temp. gradually. Having said that I leave the heating on 24/7 and just turn it down to 16 at...
