Hi,
I'm trying to swap a regular single pendant bulb light fitting for a 4 bulb ceiling light, something like this - https://www.diy.com/departments/flux-steel-gold-effect-4-lamp-ceiling-light/5014838946299_BQ.prd
The wiring diagram with the new fixture shows I need the usual live, neutral and earth. I am aware of the FAQ for replacing a rosette, however when removing the fitting, instead of a rosette I see the below, and I'm not quite sure to proceed.
I'm guessing what I'm supposed to do is remove all the existing fitting and the terminal block. For the live and neutral, I'm assuming for the new light I want the two lengths that come out of the ceiling and enter the terminal block, and that the lengths coming out of the block and travelling down the white sleeve will just detach and become scrap wire.
For the Earth wire, I assume I just take the line attached to the serpent holder block and use that. As this is quite short and appears to be connected to an extender block anyway, I was going to remove the existing length and put in a longer piece of wire to make hooking the new light up easier.
Can anyone confirm if this approach is correct? Thanks!
