I am fitting a new light fitting in a bedroom, but the installed wiring doesn't suit the new terminal block provided.
The existing wiring consists of 2 incoming cables (both of which went into the old fitting comprising a single light bulb), each with a 1 x live, 1 x neutral and 1 x earth wire. The terminal block supplied within the new light fitting has only 2 screw terminals available (marked live & neutral), although another single terminal block is supplied separately.
My questions are, should I combine the live wires and do likewise with the neutral wires and do the 2 x earth go to the separate t/block?
Many thanks.

Likely answer is no. The most likely is the ceiling rose is used as a junction box as well as method of attachment and the two line coloured wires just join together and only the neutral coloured wires (Black or Blue) go to the lamp one which should have a sleeve.

However that is a guess as there is more than one method to wire a house. So simple method is to wire the same way as old lamp.
