DIY Fire pit table similar to this....

Would it crack even if I went for steel version? Also I was wondering if I can get one which: 1. Has a 360 degrees view, so that it can be placed in the middle for everyone to view? 2. Runs on Gas.

DIY Fire pit table similar to this....

Thanks for your replies bernardgreen and angleboy. I've been taking your advice seriously and have been looking at alternatives. What do you guys think of a chiminea or a bowl type of fire-pit instead? Also I know you can buy coal/wood burners, but are there gas versions available?

DIY Fire pit table similar to this....

Thanks angleboy. I'm running out of alternative ideas and was wondering if you could post any pictures/examples of what you are doing yourself. The whole point of a firepit table is so that we can sit around it on a cooler day and have a separate bbq for those hot summer days.

DIY Fire pit table similar to this....

Thanks bernardgreen. Your input is really appreciated. I don't plan to cook or make anything on it. I simply want a patio type of heater which everyone can sit around and enjoy looking at it. If I built a gas fire-pit table with lava-rock, would that still create a lot of smoke?

DIY Fire pit table similar to this....

So what you guys are saying is that a fire pit is a bad idea? If that's the case then why do people do it and why are they so popular? Also does having a gas version make it any better? motorbiking - you mean using the lorry wheel rim? Serious? I've never seen one to be honest.

lol. Okay, maybe that table is a bit too large and also I might be better off building a stone version. If it's that bad, then can anyone please recommend some designs to me?

Hello guys, I'm thinking of creating my own fire pit table for all family to enjoy. Is it possible to create something similar to the images below? If so, what would you recommend that I'd need? http://www.fabartdiy.com/creative-multi-purpose-jag-grill-firepit-bbq-table/

    Protecting & Painting Sand/Cement Render

Thanks very much. As you'll be aware from my other threads, I've got a lot of work to do which could take a few months. Will I be okay to leave it for this long before painting it?

    Protecting & Painting Sand/Cement Render

Thanks r896neo. Basically I want to either protect the render as it is because it looks nice in it's natural colour which is my preferred choice, or if I can't do that, then paint it a light colour (white/sandstone). I assumed pvc makes the render waterproof and protects it from rain / frost??

    Protecting & Painting Sand/Cement Render

Hi guys, I've just had the garden walls fully rendered with sand/cement. The builder has advised that after the walls have dried I'd need to protect them from the weather with pvc. Could anyone please tell me what do I need to do to paint and protect the wall render from weather corrosion...

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Thanks buddy. I have looked at mortarless walls, but being honest mate, they are out of my league with costs. Truth is I already have a family member whom can build walls, so I would only need to provide him with the stone and a design and he'd be able to build a mortared wall for me for free.

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Thank r896neo. I just want to clarify that this paving is not anywhere near the house. It's totally on the opposite end of the garden, approx 20 mtrs away from the house. Unfortunately none of the recommended suppliers sell in UK Mainland.

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Thanks buddy. I've already got a lot of concrete block walls which have been rendered, but this was one wall I would have preferred not to have rendered. Can you please post a link or two showing me where I can purchase these dry blocks or whatever your talking about so that I can work out the...

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Hi guys, Really sorry for not replying sooner. I've been real busy and have not had a moment to respond. Yes the picture is just an example. I've now understood how to do the curves, so what I would be grateful with is help in understanding how to create a curved patio on sloping ground...

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Thanks r896neo. The spectrum tx10r 230mm (9 inch) is around £50. Seems to be only one major seller. I'm happy to lay the uncut flags first before all the cuts and then get the cut ones done at the end. But I'll show you the shape of the design incase you think I may need to lay some cuts at...

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Nozzle - I agree argos is not the ideal place for buying good quality tools, but the benefit is that if I pick a tool and it turns out to be crap and breaks down, so long as I've got the extra guarantee, I can return it within 3yrs and I'll be given a refund. London Mike 49 - That's exactly the...

Cutting curved stones for kidney shaped patio?

Well that's extremely helpful information r896neo, thank you. Since my current grinder is crap, I'm thinking of getting another one to do this job. In fact I like the makita 230mm (2000w) for £79.99 in argos, with the added bonus of accidental damage cover. What, 4" or 9" diamond make disc...
