    Wood chip wallpaper/blue grit

Depends on who put the stuff on the wall originally I had to remove woodchip in an old Victorian terraced place years ago It had been applied with nuclear war in mind. I gently used a steamer to try to loosen at the seams. No joy -a little more steam and a lot less movement and eventually POP...

    Fixing a Tape

Digitise them as in to a modern fully portable format such as mp3. Its hard to find a device that doesn't play mp3. A toaster or fridge possibly. Cds are an equally obsolete format and as simalarly vunerable as casette tapes. Its like swapping a Zeppelin for a Hang glider.

    Recovering SD memory Cards

Never had problems with quality ones-had countless issues with cheap ones so no longer bother. My dashcam and trail cam eat standard spec ones for breakfast so they get High Endurance type which last for years.

    Hippo bargain

Well the hippo bag has gone -collected at seven this morning. Lifted from the front wall by hiab over the parked cars into very tall sided six wheeler. The bag wasnt rigid enough and was well overfilled so it released the remains of a Little Tikes buggy onto their bonnet. Driver duly left and I...

    Self-driving Cars

A good software designer will often look at how humans or nature solves a problem. In the case of the road junction it was done by individuals who were not even working collectively. Some were courteous, some were timid ,some were assertive, some were oblivious - and some were asleep. None...

    Hippo bargain

But outright refusing things ie plasterboard and tyres instead of segregating and accepting them will lead to illegal dumping. The dumped items will have to be collected by the authorities who could have just accepted them in the first place. And saved their taxpayer the expense..... Im a...

    Self-driving Cars

No because I believe the data is distorted. It will never be conducted on twisted narrow country lane where there is no clear priority for one vehicle over another and a judgement/acceptance has to be made. We have a complex major junction in town which is usually controlled by traffic lights...

    Hippo bargain

Its the same at the tip I get that separation is key to recycling but they are pinching things down to the point where fly tipping will be rife again. I have to have permits to take my little van(privately registered non commercial runabout) in there and Im descended upon by inspectors before I...

    Hyundai HYMT5200X Multi-tool

Shell Advance petrol doesnt cause problems if youre on a budget. Ive got three hyundai units and find generic parts from ebay/amazon fit and work just fine. Was disappointed overall with the price/quality ratio, and the warranty doesnt seem worth the extra cost over the competition. Bought. the...

    Hippo bargain

Anything between 80 and 300 depending on bag volume and collection address. It saves the cost, hassle, road congestion and polution of a lorry delivering an empty container or three trips to the tip in a car,but beyond that not much advantage cost wise. I can foresee some muppet filling a bag in...

    Hippo bargain

Chatting to the new neighbours whilst theyre having a garden clearout. "Yes we've got these hippo bags- only thirteen pounds each. Fraction of the cost of hiring skips". Bless 'em.

That shouldn't have holed a pipe......

Those wretched things still lurk in hallways up and down the land I let out a house but had it rewired because the wiring was aluminium clad and also had those things living in the distribution cabinet. The wire never seems to blow in the visible area and makes you think its still ok. Had my...

    Need A Multitool...

I believe the open ended are universal - they fit my old CEL. Theres adaptor I find the 30 mm straight does most things I need. Wider ones are tougher on the little 1.2a batteries it has.

    Need A Multitool...

Ebay Amazon Aliexpress is my choice and you can verify the fit before you commit. Multi tools are often used on existing structures rather than new material so the likelihood of hidden screws and masonry is greater. Id rather wreck a cheap blade than shorten the life of a bimetal one. Blunt...

Repairing a white brick effect wall tile

It depens on how good the grout is. Sometimes its in there solid other times it fall away wirh little provocation. I find a blunt multitool "scratches" the grout away as powder rather than in lumps which possibly do more damage.
