    Radiator Thermometer Network

Incorrect. The purpose of balancing is to ensure that each radiator gets the correct flow, which is proportional to the output of the radiator. (Assuming the flow/return differential is the same.) So a 2kW radiator needs twice the flow of a 1kW radiator.

Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

Which controls do you have, i.e timer/programmer and thermostat?

Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

It might be worth checking the error history (the last 16 errors are held). The installation manual explains how to access and read the error data.

Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

The fact that flow and return temperatures are the same proves that the pump was running. But why is it necessary for the fan to run, apart from a short time while it clears the exhaust gases from the hex?

Mandatory Wireless stat? Main Combi Compact question

I agree. I was only pointing out that Main list wired devices. Which proves that the plumbing shop had got it wrong.

Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

You have a combi boiler, so CH and DHW cannot both be running at the same time. When there is a call for hot water (hot tap turned on) the diverter valve changes over so it stops heating the rads and heats the tap water instead. The numbers look OK. Apart from the nF, which should be 0, all...

Mandatory Wireless stat? Main Combi Compact question

The shop is telling porkies. Main list two wired controllers - a programable stat (7212438), and a room stat (720971601). Main also list an outdoor sensor (7703233), which means that the boiler is weather-comp capable. Weather comp automatically adjusts the boiler flow temperature according to...

House taking ages to heat up

I have been monitoring the boiler activity and learned something I was not expecting. Turned the roomstat up from 21C to 25C Flow temp showed 43C, Output showed 32% (set to 35%) After 5 minutes the flow had risen to 51C, output still 32% I decided to increase the output (parameter 1A). while...

House taking ages to heat up

    1. If that was so larger rads would be required. 2. Yes 3. Most calculators allow 10-20% extra for heating up. Mine allowed 20%, which shouldn't really be necessary as the house is always occupied. It gives the correct temperature when checked against a digital thermometer; and the boiler turns...

    External pump??

So there is more water flowing through the original pipes. Have they been upsized (if necessary) to take account of this? What temperature differential are you using when balancing?

Remeha Avanta Plus 28c stuck at code 8

Code 8 is a controlled stop. The Remeha manual says: The Remeha Avanta Plus is fitted with an electronic temperature regulator with flow and return temperature sensors. The flow temperature can be set to between 20 and 85°C, see 2.9.8 (factory setting 75°C) The boiler modulates it's output up...

House taking ages to heat up

Last June (2019!) we moved to a house, built in the mid 1980's, which has a WB 37CDi combi boiler, installed about 10 years ago. I have estimated, based on the standards set when it was built, that the heat loss is about 10kW. There are about 10kW of radiators. The boiler can only modulate down...

Drayton TRV4 Snapped off - Any clues?

11C is historical; it was originally 20F, which was supposed to be the optimal flow/return temperature differential for old cast iron boilers. Modern condensing boilers ofter specify a differential of 20C as this (a) reduced the head loss in the heat exchanger (cast iron boilers had virtually no...

    Mixing adey and centinel chemicals

It woiuld be better to drain the system, getting rid of the unknown chemicals, then refill with fresh water to which you add the X400. Leave this in for at least a week (there's no time limit, but it's effectiveness reduces after a few weeks). Then drain, refill and add X100 inhibitor.

Damper for central heating zone valve?

Have you checked that the water is flowing the correct way through the valve? There is an arrow on the side of the body showing the correct direction.

    Room stat on/off and opentherm

You can only use Opentherm if your boiler is OT compatible.

63 flats in block, mains insufficient, is a pump the answer?

So the directors send a letter to each flat owner telling them what work needs to be done and why, and the date/time the work will be done. If other flats have the same problem, they will be pleased that the job is being done, even if it inconveniences them for an hour or so.

What right has the managing agent to do this? You employ him, so you give the orders.

The T6360C does not have an anticipator as it designrd to b used with a thermal actuator. It would help if we knew what type of heating system the OP has.
