Rough price for bannister and balustrades

Hiya My stairs are open plan and wondered what I would be looking at price wise to add in a main post at the bottom (there is a platform but it's a foot or so high of that) and a tail with spindle balustrades in? any pointers welcome! For example am I looking for a builder or a Chippy?

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

I thought he meant 22l at 1 bar and when one guy did exactly that I had about 11!! So I assumed I was on a loser for uv

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Hahahaha I've read in a lot of places that if your flow is less than 20/22l/min then benefits of unvented are gone. Yes mate my little un has a little bath every now and then but we are shower people and like a proper one, not rip your skin off but that triton running well was what we had in...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Thanks mate i do appreciate the advice. I appreciated it last time also but then read everyone (including people on this thread) saying if you haven't got 22l/min dynamic then you're "pishing in the wind" and when you're unsure of yourself and it's not what you know it's easy to be blown all...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Quotes I have had for the unvented cylinder plus relocation or the combo install have differed by £200, absolutely nothing really.

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

I take your point Dan but the shower I want is only £150....it's a triton excellente. Hardly champagne fella but it's hard when you haven't got a bloody clue what you need to do! How much flow increase would you expect for upgrading from 15mm to 22mm? See what I also come back to is I...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

We are now also going back to basic physics but.... If you have a pressure of 3 bar for example. If you add another pipe from the mains feed in do you just get two pipes at the same pressure and flow rate as the original one? Assuming resistance and pressure drop through pipe is consistent...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Haha but you make a living from them mate! Well to be fair once I understand this someone will make part of their living from me and that could be you! It's from the front door straight out under the floor boards via kitchen and downstairs shower I would say 7 metres from tap to boiler. You've...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Absolutely tony and apologies my forum etiquette isn't what it should be re starting a new thread. Should have known that. 11l per min dynamic is correct. I have blue pipe coming into stop tap under stairs and then 15mm on from there. Would I benefit flow wise from running 22mm from stop tap to...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

You are right Dan it wasn't all the advice I received, but it was about 50/50 split on here and RGIs that I have had round. The 42kw thing is just a question in my mind, theoretical only. Although on the combi front I have figured out I probably actually cant afford an unvented cylinder...

    New combi sizing - overspecced??!

Hi all, I know the word overspec is always a bad one but bear with me..... I have 3 bar pressure at the garden tap and roughly 13-14L /min at the kitchen tap. At 1 bar I have around 111/12L /min. Considering a combi and the flow rates stated are for 35/40degree rises all advice I have seen...

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

Cheers dan and all the other guys who have contributed. So an unvented it is with or without an accumulator depending on what comes out when it's done. That and hoping my 16 year old potterton doesn't blow up! Only just had the pcb replaced so should be ok for a few years...

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

Oh really? Why is that? Safety or effectiveness? Only reason we have thought it is to avoid pipes running up the walls in my lads bedroom to the loft

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

And Dan Robinson, you mentioned the cylinder going in the loft which was our first idea. We are now thinking of putting the cylinder down out the way in our ground floor utility room next to the boiler. Is there any operational difference based on where it is sited? Hoping it means cheaper...

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

In amongst the willy waving (lol) someone asked about flow when another tap was open. Short answer is no but one guy did put a device on the tap and set it to 1 bar to "simulate" a combi and flow went down to 10ishl/min Is that comparable/relevant or no?

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

Cheers muggles. So what to do about this 12l/min? I guess the only way is to get the unvented, run the new 22mm copper to it and see what it spits out? Then look at accumulators and the like if I'm not happy?? Is there any other option for me really?

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

That's 12l/min open, with 1bar it went to 10.5 ish so we assumed 13 or 14l from the boiler was pointless as its not there to be heated!

Please help me understand my problem and what I can do about it!!

See these are the options we have 34 kW boiler (although with only 12l at taps we were worried about poor flow for shower or unvented as discussed above

As I understood it that's what I need to make an unvented worthwhile? That's my ignorant ******* version of understanding of course Bob but I read it somewhere!!
