    How do i estimate how many slate tiles i need to re roof? how many per square meter on plan including waste? i need a small roof re roofed in tiles its a mid terrace and has a 45 degree pitch but i really need to know how many to order cheers

    if your using lime then the NHBC recommend a 1 to half to 4.5 mix cement lime sand if theres no lime the a 1 to 3 if your using an "air entraining plasticiser" then 1 to 3.5 Hope that helps

    a hammer and chisels a long job is it soft enough that you can get away with a pick or better still hire a low power spit and flat chisel? take out about 5m at a time if your putting lime back in it takes ages to go off this will give you time to take some more out before finishing the first...

    hi why is getting the chimney lined so expensive? i thought it was just a case of pulling a flexie lining down the chimney and attaching it to the stove? Obviously not! Also i thought on some cases a lining wasn't required

    Yeah the reason i want to change is because of the efficiency i read an open fire will lose 80% of the heat up the chimney as 80% of the heat from a wood burner goes into warming the house? the one ive bought has a bolt on boiler do you think i can use it without removing the old back boiler...

    hi I am thinking about installing a wod burning stove into my cottage at the mo there is an open fire which heats a back boiler is this going to pose any problems in changing over? I know nothing about this subject so any help will be gratefully recieved
