Greenish tinged pic on Sony Trinitron KV21-XMTU

I have an old Sony Trinitron KV21-XMTU given to me but without a remote or User Manual. Till recently it had a brilliant picture but in Freeview it has now acquired a faint greenish cast and the contrast, brightness and colour are not as clear as when I switch off the freeview and watch...

Vaillant Turbomax - too much pressure - HELP!

Done. Thanks chaps. twgas, I wll. It was just by chance I glanced at it. Don't know how long it had been filling up. Have tightened the key underneath. I just hope nothing has "gone" inside. I can't afford a Gas Man right now, what with recent new clutch and service for my 16 year old...

Hi guys I have a Vaillant Turbomax Plus 824E and today I noticed the pressure needle had gone round to over 2! I know how to increase the pressure, using the key, but can anyone please tell me how to reduce it to optimum levels, as it should be? So grateful for any advice/help...

    Falling lightbulbs!

Latest on this problem is - while on my way to Wickes I exercised my Greyhound and met another dog-walker, Larry, who has stronger hands than my puny ones. He twisted the thing and opened it, just like that, then offered to come and fit it for me and that's it, he is coming tomorrow! Nice man...

    Falling lightbulbs!

Plugwash - if it comes to that I won't have the confidence, as I am scared of electricity and don't know what I am doing. So the table lamp will be staying for a while longer! Bernard, I did remove that ring, you can see it in photo 2. But it's the back I can't get off. Going to Wickes now...

    Falling lightbulbs!

Thank you again, I've had enough for today. I will certainly have another go in the morning when it's light. Can't do anything now as I'd have to turn the electric off, and it's not an emergency, just an irritation. Have a table lamp in the kitchen at the mo.

    Falling lightbulbs!

Well, I have just tried again wearing rubber gloves to get a grip but it still won't move. Perhaps it's cross-threaded or something. I'm going to take it back tomorrow and get them to sort it or give me another one. Thanks guys.

    Falling lightbulbs!

Please help! Two of the ceiling lightbulb fittings in my house have gone west, the curved section that holds the bulb has broken. The one in my middle room, which is a dangling one with a flex simply needs the socket unit replacing, which should be simple, and the one in my kitchen, pictured...

Here's a poser! Kitchen cupboard backs

Ah well, I think I will just have to live with it. The kitchen was built for me as a result of an insurance claim for flooding, so I was only given a limited choice. Beggars can't be choosers, they say.

Toilet overflow dripping - have replaced washer, it's worse!

That is such a good idea! I have come to the conclusion that the seepage was caused by the water running into the overflow pipe over a few days and probably coming out through that crack as well as the outlet pipe on the wall. I don't really want to disturb things underneath, so perhaps the...

Toilet overflow dripping - have replaced washer, it's worse!

I am completely ignorant what that means, seco. I just about changed the washer today and am exhausted. Are you trying to turn me into a plumber? That is very very scary. I have just had a thought about why the nut split. The ballcock does tend to catch on it and push it out of...

Toilet overflow dripping - have replaced washer, it's worse!

I have some stupid resizer on my computer and can't seem to override it. Have a look at it from a different angle - it's definitely split! Sorry, it should be vertical. Am I in very big trouble? It's been like that for years. Wondered where the water and mouldy smell...

Toilet overflow dripping - have replaced washer, it's worse!

Here's a better pic - It doesn't seem to be cross threaded. That gasket thingie at the top does look split, and I think that is where it is weeping. Actually, that isn't a very good pic at all. :? Kirkgas, I am not going to touch ANYTHING! Thank you for your sound advice. I...
