The very few gs models I saw had ducellier dizzy,a la renault / chrysler etc,take out top bearing plate,exposes points. later type renault cassette points adjusted through hole on side of dizzy.

Delco distributor the triumph 1850 had similar arrangment you knew you were in for a good time when you looked and could see the dizzy at the end of its slots and running like a pig because owners " mate" had had a go at it first....

Most CF Vans I worked on had worn out the plastic timing cover on the crank pulley,hence no timing marks...As for dwell angle the dizzie was usually worn out so you would get differing points gap on all 4 corners,baseplate wobbled about, used to fit flylead between baseplate and body to improve...

Does engine fire up,then run for a few seconds then dies OR just turns over normally not firing OR sounds different when cranking( Your original post mentioned you thought cambelt may have gone) OR when it does fire up is it gradually increasing revs or just run normally?

If not washer jets you need to determine if its coolant or rain/wash water. First check the coolant has correct antifreeze level then drive car until enough water by spark plugs, check this water,is it coolant or plain water(Use antifreeze tester)If its coolant its probably core plug/s

Rainwater could be leaking in from washer jet on bonnet. modified jets available from ford dealer

It sounds like the valve has seized due to infrequent use ( you should turn this control both ways every few months to keep it free) but for now try some plus gas give it time to work then use mole grips tightly on spindle- may start moving if youre lucky,If not new vave time.Problem is made...
