Replace old wc with new close coupled wc

I did come across an excuse for a dpm , but as soon as i broke through the screed , most of what i came across was just backfill / pea shingle ,, which i replaced untill the last 150mm or so . I did make an attempt to turn the existing polythene up , but it is on raised ground and in no danger .

Replace old wc with new close coupled wc

I had this problem recently , forget trying to find a wc with the same trap . I tried all connotations of flexible connectors and nothing would work , i ended up biting the bullet , digging an area of drain up and repositioning it close to the wall . Took about 2 hours max , prior to that...

    house wall question

if it is to work out the required U values , you need the same whether it has a garage next to it , or not , it is still classed as an external wall so 0.3 is your target

    What size RSJ?

so you want to span nearly 7 m . you cant prop it anywhere mid span from a loadbearing internal wall ? I think you will be in for a surprise here . you will have to provide the spans of the rafters and also the tiles you have on the roof , to give somebody a chance , if they dared have...

    Foundation help required..Piccy!!

I draw it for every domestic extension now, It certainly wont cause a foundation to fail , and it gives me a bit of security from a poor ground bearing slab A number of insurance companies have started to decline claims where a slab alone has dropped without the foundations moving .

    Building regs!!!

a good example of different interpretations of the regs is the use of this Trisco 10 "baco foil" style insulation . Some councils arent accepting it , and the 3 next to me have different requirements 1 accepts it can be used on its own 2 Requires an additional 65mm of celotex to back...

    Foundation help required..Piccy!!

That is the general idea , you wouldnt need to increase the slab width at the edges though. A suspended slab does need mesh reinforcement ( normally 2 sheets ) the type depends on the span and what edge support you can get

    Foundation help required..Piccy!!

I always prefer drains not to be encased now. I suggest they should be on a pea shingle bed and then the trench backfilled with pea shingle to the underside of the slab . The slab is looking a bit thin and you havent shown a dpm or a screed. But then again , wherever I can , I spec an...

    Conservatory foundation dilemma

If it is a machine dig , then a 400 wide bucket would be perfect for a trench fill foundation rather than a strip footing. You mention you want to do it " right " The minimum depth for a foundation under building regs is 1 m
