When using laminate under the pan of the toilet do you screw down the pan through the laminate and into the floor board OR is the pan of the toilet not supposed to be sit directly on the laminate stopping the laminate expanding.

I've got 18" inbetween the roof beams is this enough for a loft opening with ladder? I could make the width 18" or the length and the other dimension I could make 30". I wouldnt be able to line the hole (coz that would make the opening 16")so the archatrave would have to be fitted to the roof...

I've been told if you have a combi you shouldn't have a gas fire and a gas cooker because of the demand for gas when the hot water is turned on. I know loads of people who have all three with no problems. Whose correct?

Yeah its covered by the insulation but lying on the plasterboard, but I think I'll move it ontop of timbers. I only want it for a tv signal amplifier and the spare socket for a pistol drill/other hand tool when or if required.
