I have a switch in the airing cupboard that used to turn on the immersion heater in the storage tank. I want to use the switch to put a socket in the loft. Can I replace the switch with a 13 amp fused switch and run a cable up in the loft to a socket. Is this ok or is there a better way?

I bought one from B&Q for 30 odd quid and its crap. Its like the one you have it twists and to be honest I nearly took it back to B&Q as it must contravine Health ans Saftey.

I can understand the logic about the screws though some where either the ceiling rose or the switch screws have to be used
