thanks for the responses, I already have an oil filled free standing so will give it a go on the lowest setting. I've seen a much smaller 500w oil filled free standing which I might look at but the comment re an 80W tubular looks interesting too as wall mounting is preferable.

thanks, I did think about that, but not convenient when the heating is off. I guess moving the thermostat in there and turning down all the other trvs in summer might have been an option, but the pipework has pretty much gone and I don't want to alter it now the system is installed.

thanks, i'd wanted to avoid taking the loo off as the pipework is all concealed within it and I expect there is no isolation value like the rest of the pipework. sounds like it's more practical than lifting the cover though, so i might just get someone in who has more time than me! thanks

Out of interest is there really a stated manufacturers tolerance? We are told 3mm is the max, yet ours was 5mm out. Nothing in any of the brochure or order suggested darker doors have different performance to lighter ones nor any mention of keeping out of direct sunlight. We tend to keep this...
